What Skiers Say About Tignes
Tignes attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting the vast ski area, high altitude ensuring reliable snow coverage, and strong connections to Val d'Isère. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Cocorico's and Folie Douce, receives frequent praise. Multiple users mention well-groomed pistes, efficient lift systems, and minimal queuing outside peak periods. Common criticisms include high prices for food, drink, and lift passes, limited terrain for complete beginners (many greens require blues to access), and a lack of tree-lined runs due to the high altitude. Several reviewers describe the resort architecture as functional rather than picturesque, and conditions can become icy or mogul-heavy by late afternoon.

The resort also has the Grand Monte glacier which has some of the nicest runs, but fantastic views. From the glacier you can ski all the way done to Val Claret Tignes.
The resort also has dedicated snow park areas containing rails, boxes, half pipe and jumps of all sizes. The number of smaller jumps is more limited.
The Tignes resort and area have some greater apres locations. I would recommend the famous Foli douce. As well as either Cocoricos in Tinges or Val dlesre. And also bollin in tignes.
Follie Douche above Thommasus is great for the apres or The loop bar in Tignes Le Lac.
Heading up to the Grand Motte Glacier on a sunny day is an absolute must. At the other end of the valley the view from the Aguille Percey is epic.
You can have a groomed descent through the trees all the way down to Tignes le Boisse and Le Brevieres, as well as race around on the higher slopes up in the main Valley.
The off piste skiing is a little limited to finding unusual ways of picking routes down the mountain, but there are still challenges out there.
Make sure to get to Le Coulouir bar in Val Claret for their happy hour and get yourself the best Mojito you'll ever have.
Linked to Val so best of both worlds.
Great all round resort and snow sure.
