Les Gets is predominantly reviewed by UK visitors, with a strong presence of families, beginners, and intermediate skiers. The resort is consistently praised for being family-friendly, with good ski school options and a charming village atmosphere. Reviewers frequently mention the easy connections to Morzine and Avoriaz, expanding the ski area significantly. The lower altitude is noted across many reviews as a concern, with several users reporting rain, slushy conditions, or limited snow cover, particularly in early or late season. Quieter slopes and minimal lift queues are commonly appreciated, though some note limited après-ski compared to larger resorts.

Super friendly and good culture of ensuring everyone is okay. Lots of wide blues and abundance of cafes. The PDS map could read a bit better however.

Great resort for families with a picturesque village with non skiing activities for the the whole family.
There are two sides to the resort - Mont Cherry which offers quiet pistes and fantastic views of the whole area and Mont Blanc. This area has a high proportion of black runs to challenge more experienced skiers and borders.
The largest part of the area shared with Morzine offers lots of tree-lined runs with some great areas for beginners and a varied amount of pistes and valleys to explore. Great offpiste areas between the Nyon and Chamossier peaks and great powder areas on the Rosta area after snowfall.
The Chocas run which runs for about 7k is a great winding run through the trees and is often a route the tour de France uses in the summer.
All in all a great all round resort with the option of Avoriaz around the corner if you want to mix it up. Traditional mountain charm mixed with great skiing.

Low level resort. Able to ski between different villages, very family friendly with a good mixture of runs green to black. Excellent for beginners, to experienced skiers plenty of entertainment laid on by the village throughout the season I return most years. Traditional accommodation

Very good family resort. Slopes well maintained. With a good stock of generated snow, to top up the groomed slopes if the conditions determinate. Lots of choices of areas and runs for all abilities.

Fabulous, family-friendly resort which has been very well- managed to provide something for everyone. It has fun areas for beginners and children, but the hidden gem is skiing the Mt Chery side for more advanced skiers to find some more challenging runs (mostly reds and blacks over the back) away from the crowds. The apres-ski scene also has something for everyone, including lots of excellent restaurants and fun bars. All this, whilst maintaining a charming, tasteful looking small resort vibe. Go there - young and old alike wont be disappointed!

This is a traditional French ski resort. Lifts very efficient and quiet. Runs were well groomed, unfortunately due to the low altitude the snow was very soft and after a few hours the runs very very churned up.
The resort has lots of places to eat with a wide range of restaurants to choose from.
Large amount of accommodation types to choose from. Some will require a large walk, which with children could be challenging.

Les Gets is a fabulous little resort. Beautiful, charming, and friendly, its a perfect place for beginners and families.
There are plenty of nursery slopes and green / blue runs at the top of the main Chavannes bubble, and then a good variety of red and black runs on Mont Chéry and Ranfolly for more advanced skiers. A reasonable variety of un-pisted runs / mogul fields too. The resort links with the Portes du Soleil ski area, so over to Morzine and beyond theres more than enough skiing for anybody.
The village itself is beautiful and unspoilt. Not the liveliest place for aprés, but there are a few bars and a great selection of restaurants. The resort puts on some great events too, from comedy festivals, to light shows, to torchlit night-skiing.
The only real downside to the resort is its altitude. At only 1172m, with a peak of 2200 its pretty low. In January and February you should be sure of good snow, but outside of those months conditions could be tricky.

I have been skiing in Les Gets for over 20 yrs first taking my wife as a first time skier and now our children. It is a great family resort with excellent Ski School ESF. The Apres Ski is ideal for what we need but not if you want to party all night. Snow making has improved over the years and I have skied there in good and bad seasons but always enjoyed myself. There is a wide variety of accommodation from hotels, Chalets or air bnb. A 1 hr transfer from Geneva or can drive in about 8/9hrs from Calais.

Had a great time 3rd January- 10th January.
Stayed in Air bnb which was great.
Make sure you try the rail mounted toboggan great fun.
Ski hire from SkiLove was well worth it and the service was excellent.
Was a bit unsure of snow conditions before arriving but was pleasantly surprised when on the slopes.
Perfect family Ski holiday.

I went to Les gets for a total of 5 weeks across 5 years. During the last year of skiing there weather it was the end of the season or it was just a bad season for snow, there was a lot of exposure to the rock etc and this is due to the nature of the resort starting at 1200m. However, this year I know has been a good year for snow and one of my friends who went out there to ski was saying that it was great snow! This is a very family friendly ski resort and a great place for beginners to start skiing. The variety of skiing is quite limited however as the level of difficulty isnt as high as other resorts in France. The apres are great and eating out provides lots of options. There is an ice rink and other activities to do when not on the slopes or if there is a bad day.
Overall, this is a good resort and I have many fond memories of coming here!

Resort: The resort is really beautiful and very family friendly. It is not cheap but is not as ludicrous as many other resorts. There are plenty of tasty restaurants to chose from and some fun bars. While there isn't a huge nightlife, there is certainly some fun to be had!
Skiing: With very easy access to Morzine, there is a wide array of skiing for all levels. There are many lovely, peaceful, slow runs for beginners, and slightly more challenging runs. Very easy access to Morzine, which leads into the wider Portes du Soleil area allowing for more exciting skiing.
