Les Gets was great, visited on last Saturday and was quire because its still early in the season. We stopped for lunch at LHottys, which had a cozy vibe and good food, though the prices felt a little steep for what was on offer. Overall, it was a great experience

We were extremely fortunate to have had a lot of fresh snow fall on our first 2 days followed by glorious sunshine for the rest of the week. Plenty of mixed terrain for all levels although could have been a few more greens/ blues for the beginners in the group. Lots of restaurants and bars in the village although not as many on the slopes as other resorts nearby. All in all a great resort for families. We have 2 tots whom also had a blast playing on the baby slopes and sledging areas. Will definitely be returning in the future!

We've just come back from 1 week away hit the snow perfect best in the last 5 years of beginning of season start that I can remember lifts are fast crowds at time were ok for beginning of season blues greens are great for family and novice skiers would highly recommend this area for all abilities.

Great place for every skiing ability. Ski lockers are a must and right next to the main ski lift. Loads of eating places at affordable prices.

I have skied in Les Gets for the past 20 years and have seen many changes. A great family resort the only down side is the altitude it sits at but this is manged by excellent snow making facilities. A number of newly installed lifts have increased efficiency. Good Apres-ski but dont expect to be partying into the early hours this is a family resort at heart. Great ski school for my young children who have love the resort. I take my parents one who does not ski and she likes walking around the alpine shops and looking at the restaurant menus which are excellent.

Having been skiing in Les Gets for over 20 years, and having experienced other resorts as well, I can comfortably say this resort ranks extremely highly for skiers of any and all abilities. Despite its smaller size, lower altitude than the likes of Val DIsere, and much more low-key apres scene, Les Gets boasts a fanatastic range of groomed and diverse slopes. Situated in the Portes Du Soleil means you have not only access to the local area but Morzine too for a busier more vibrant setting, Avoriaz if you want to apres a bit harder and even Switzerland, including the notorious (Swiss Wall). However, staying in Les Gets allows you to avoid the business of Morzine and the intensity of Avoriaz, providing a well balanced vibe for families and young people alike. If only the snow were a little more reliable, this would be THE standout resort in France

Good resort, it's kind of big but doesn't feel too big or busy. Skiing is great and lots of apres ski options. Les Great!

Les gets is a brilliant location for skiing and snowboarding. It can accomodate many different levels of ski experience. A wide range of slopes, good food and drink selection. Many on slope bars and restaurants to enjoy the views. Great for families and any one looking for lessons. Large selections of ski shops where you can buy or rent skii gear. Would recommend a visit!

Great access to two areas on different sides of the village, ski train, and possibility to have ski in out accomodation.

Good intermediate resort when it has good snow cover. Snow reliability can be an issue due to low altitude. God advanced skiing on Mount Cherie side of the resort

Lovely, friendly resort suiting most standards however could do with some more varied slopes without having to travel too far. Wouldnt hesitate to go back though, plenty going on!!!

Beautiful village with short transfer time from Geneva. Part of an expansive ski area which would be difficult cover fully in a week. Great mix of pistes and decent snow cover considering the low altitude. Also options to go higher via Avariaz. Great for beginners and families too. Mont Chery is perfect little haven with a small number of quiet slopes for beginners and experts. Lovely atmosphere in the town and some nice bars and restaurants. Relatively chilled apres scene.

Snow sports have been a big part of my life since I was in nappies and over the years I have been lucky enough to experience skiing/snowboarding across the majority of France, Switzerland and Whistler, CA but nowhere has my heart like Les Gets. It truly has something for everyone with a great range of pistes and off piste area and fantastic access into avoriaz and beyond. The village is beautiful with many amazing restaurants and hotels/accommodation, and whilst not necessarily renowned for its night life there are still multiple late bars which I have spent many great nights in with friends and family. I would recommend Les Gets to everyone!!

Les Gets
When I arrived in Les Gets, a charming French village nestled in a valley near Morzine, I wasnt sure what to expect. The snow conditions had been bad in the days leading up to my trip, but luck was on my side. On my first night, it snowed heavily, and by morning, the mountains were blanketed in a fresh, fluffy layer of powder. I could already tell this was going to be a trip to remember.
Exploring Mont Chéry
For my first day, I decided to check out Mont Chéry, a quieter area of Les Gets that Id heard great things about. A quick ride up a fast chairlift revealed a range of red and black runs, most of them untouched. I started on one of the reds to warm up, carving through the pristine snow and often finding myself off-piste because the powder was too good to resist.
The highlight of the day came when I dropped into an untracked black run on the other side of Mont Chéry. The feeling of gliding through deep, untouched powder, with no one else in sight, was nothing short of magical. In my opinion, this kind of experience is what makes Les Gets specialhow often do you get to enjoy a deserted powder day?
The Morzine Side
The next day, I ventured to the Morzine side of the valley. It was noticeably busier, but not overly crowded. The snow here had started to get tracked out, making the runs a bit choppier. I found this added an exciting challenge to the red and black runsperfect for someone like me who enjoys pushing their skills. The scenery was breathtaking, too, with tree-lined slopes and stunning mountain views at every turn.
Beginner-Friendly Vibes
One thing I really appreciated about Les Gets was how accessible it is for all levels. While I spent most of my time on intermediate and advanced runs, I noticed the beginner area halfway up the mountain was a great setup. Reached by a gondola, it allowed beginners to learn in the heart of the mountains rather than being stuck at the bottom. It seemed like a much better way to get a feel for snowboarding or skiing.
Après-Ski and Relaxation
After long days on the slopes, I found Les Gets to have just the right amount of après-ski options. Its quieter than Morzine, but I liked the laid-back vibe. A couple of bars with live music were perfect for unwinding without the chaos of a massive party scene.
What surprised me most was how much I enjoyed the Spa Sources du Chéry, which had just opened near my apartment. Normally, Im not a spa person, but the sensory shower was incredible. Setting it to tropical rainforest, I closed my eyes and was transported to another world with the sounds, scents, and feel of rainfallit was the perfect way to soothe my tired muscles.
Why Les Gets is Perfect for Intermediate Snowboarders
In my opinion, Les Gets is ideal for intermediate riders like me. Mont Chéry offers secluded slopes and incredible powder days, while the Morzine side provides variety and a bit more of a challenge. The compact, charming village makes getting around easy, and theres just enough to do off the slopes to keep things interesting without feeling overwhelming.
Whether youre carving through powder, tackling choppy reds, or just enjoying the mountain views, Les Gets delivers an unforgettable experience. If youre an intermediate snowboarder or skier looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation, Id highly recommend it.

Had an amazing time but unfortunately it rained pretty badly, meant the slopes were very quiet but not as enjoyable. This is where I learnt to snowboard with fantastic instructors for the group. My family were skiing and loved it as well. We stayed at a family friends house so cant mention accommodation.

Nice village feel, and better apres than its neighbour Morzine. Its also a little higher than Morzine so you can better snow. Its part of one of the biggest ski areas in Europe Portes du Soleil. And only one hour from Geneva, whats not to love.

I try to go to Les Gets as much as possible, and have probably spent over a year of my life there- almost entirely in ski season. The first question you need to ask is if -if there will be snow. At Christmas snowfall is always doubtful, although during spring half term this isnt such an issue. If there isnt snow, you can always rent a car in Geneva and drive over to avoriaz, its 20 minutes max.

Its a perfect resort for families with a great ski school, a mixture of runs (I would prefer more some more hardcore blacks) and great food. Particular favourites are Perrier, the ultimate red to bomb down, and Chamoizier, a black or red that often involved a lift through the clouds and has some lovely powder. Dont expect big snow parks, do expect nice skiing for the family. Mont Chery has a great back side to it which in deep powder becomes one big bowl and has some challenging blacks on it, although you must walk/get a kids train thing across the small town to het there from the main mountain.

As for apres ski there are great bars, dont expect any clubbing except at the igloo which is disappointing.

The food is what makes Les Gets stand out. Le frutierre de perriere is an ex Michelin listed cheese shop by day restaurant by night only serving Savoyard classics like raclette and fondue. You get a massive pot of endless potatoes, refillable salad, charcuterie, and cornichons and feast. There are some more elevated options in the village as well- hotel Crychar really has some great food (coming from an ex fine dining chef), and youre likely to get a proper dinner in La marmotte hotel. There is also an incredible chocolate shop run by a lovely Senegalese lady, and primo has some of the best Neapolitan pizza you can find anywhere.

Of course there is the usual selection of great bakeries, and getting a good baguette alongside some cheese for le fruttiere de Perrier with some saucisson is a perfect to go meal on the slopes. There are some amazing ski-in restaurants that I have unfortunately forgotten the name of.

In terms of ski rentals, I buy, but when I take my friends we go to the shop at the bottom of perrier where Clement is eternally helpful and it has a great family vibe. If you go year after year you will get a discount.

There is great hiking and cross country skiing opportunities. In summer it is a hub for mountain biking which I also enjoy, although i understand this is about skiing.

On the whole, a more family friendly resort that is catered towards beginner/intermediate. Nice big open green, blue and reds are a good place to hone skills but dont let this fool you. With the right snow conditions and local knowledge this can be some of the best tree skiing out there. Yes, this does mean a fair amount of hiking or getting your skins on but you do have to earn your turns.
The village life will become more busy with the amount of investment going into it. It has somewhat lost its charm from the early 2000s and maybe lost its soul while trying to become a new destination place which due to the height, Im not sure itll ever be.
Accommodation wise, there are two levels. You have the new very upmarket hotels and chalets but you also have the older chalets which still offer phenomenal value (special shoutout to Chalet Nomad).
All in all, this is a resort that offers something for everyone but you just have to go looking for it.

Les Gets allows you to experience a true French alpine resort with all the perks from well looked after slopes to great apres ski without being washed away by the sheer masses! The small family feel resort is perfect for new and intermediate skiers with great access to Morzine and higher resorts like Avoriaz.
The resort works tirelessly to improve the experience for all that visit by keeping elements of the old town to new hotels, bars and restaurants.
Les Gets is not the most challenging of resorts but it certainly is one where you will share the love and laughter skiings brings!
