Les Gets Review Summary

Les Gets is predominantly reviewed by UK visitors, with a strong presence of families, beginners, and intermediate skiers. The resort is consistently praised for being family-friendly, with good ski school options and a charming village atmosphere. Reviewers frequently mention the easy connections to Morzine and Avoriaz, expanding the ski area significantly. The lower altitude is noted across many reviews as a concern, with several users reporting rain, slushy conditions, or limited snow cover, particularly in early or late season. Quieter slopes and minimal lift queues are commonly appreciated, though some note limited après-ski compared to larger resorts.

Did my ski season here. Les get its self is very family oriented. Night life was mainly in morzine which was good fun! The Irish bar in Les gets was decent. Favourite Les get run was the red back into Les gets finishing by perrieres express lift. Definitely get the full PDS lift pass and ski over into Switzerland, this is a big appeal of the area, and drop down the Swiss wall on your way!

Great resort, very family friendly and not too busy on off peak weeks. If you want more advanced skiing though its better to head to Avoriaz where skiing is great but more busy.

Pretty & traditional resort with lots going on. Great choice of chalet accommodation. Lively & plenty of shops & bars. Lift system could do with updating as some where quite slow causing bottlenecks on busier days . Good to be able to get over to Morzine & Avoriaz too.

Really enjoyed my time in les gets, and would go back to ski again!
I am excited to try some of the harder slopes next time, having built up my confidence this year and improving my ability to ski moguls and steeper slopes.

Really loved it here. Some really good easy nice wide fun runs. Great for carving. With some better snow I'm sure you could takle some more of the harder runs but unfortunately when I went in April 2024 there wasn't enough snow. Would love to go back. The town is beautiful but we had a 10min walk from door to slopes. Again with more snow I'm sure we could have found a off piste trail back. Some great places for apre skiing.

Visiting les gets as a child learning to ski, and then as an adult doing a season - it really is a resort that fits all. The small town vibe makes for a lovely alpine charm and its super easy to get around

We are a group of mainly intermediate skiers who have been to Les Gets/Morzine a number of times. We tend to go in January so this review is based on that timing rather than Christmas/half term etc.

Les Gets is so handy from Geneva and on a shared transfer it tends to be the first drop off ahead of Morzine and Avoriaz so is particularly good if you are trying to get a couple of hours in when you arrive or a full day before you leave.

We love the variety of the slopes but a few of the lifts could do with upgrades/replacement particularly La Rosta (which is a shame as the runs down from there are a lot of fun). Mont Chery has some great skiing and while it is not connected to the wider area it is very much worth a visit if the snow is good as it can be quite a bit quieter there with the opportunity to put some real laps in.

Unless the weather is particularly grotty we tend to take the chairlift out of towns (Chavannes Express) as it is quicker and gets you further up the mountain opening up more options for the first few runs of the day.

A couple of the group have has ESF private lessons and would highly recommend. ESF seems a good deal cheaper than other resort based options.

We are a bit old for apres ski done properly and tend to have more late lunches followed by a leisurely ski home. The quality of the restaurants both on the hill and in town is excellent with our particular favourite being La Paika - a must for meat aficionados.

We have been skiing here for the past 14 years - in January and March and always outside school holidays. The resort has changed a lot in that time from an authentic Alpine village to a more built up resort. It still retains a lot of its old charm but is in danger of overdevelopment. It does suffer from its lower altitude but we have always been impressed by the pisteurs ability to keep the pistes skiable even with little snow. Its rarely been crowded when we visit but I gather its a different story in school, holidays.
Its a very family friendly resort - no riotous nightlife - just the one nightclub, The Igloo but there are plenty of restaurants . On piste our favourite is the Paika which you can only get to on skis. It does fabulous bbqd meat and fish.
I can recommend the Ski360 ski school- theyve been very patient with me and certainly brought my skiing level up.
For a day off skiing, its worth the walk to Mont Caly and have lunch at Les Chevrelles- an authentic and rustic Alpine chalet with excellent food. Brilliant views too.
If you are planning on skiing more than 2 weeks in the village then buy a season pass before the end of September. The price is vastly reduced and gives taster days at other resorts for free and a run on the new Luge.
For those self catering, there is a Carrefour in the village which caters for most of your needs.
On a final note its a friendly village and nearly everyone speaks English.

We have been going to Les Gets as a family for over 25 years and still absolutely love it!

A gorgeous small, family-friendly resort attached to the expansive Port de Soleil with its incredible, extensive ski area.

Cannot wait to now teach my own children here!

Nice Resort with plenty of different slopes, options to sit down for food and drinks.
About quality was good even on the man made snow. Some really fast decents for the thrill seeker, plenty of space to get away from the crowd.

Les Gets... look, it's kinda low (top at 2k meters), but !
1) Connects to Morzine and the Portes du Soleil, ski-in.
2) has *amazing* fun tree runs, just next to the pistes
3) the domain is wide enough that lift wait times are relatively short
4) great for beginners, some good areas for more advanced skiers
5) did I mention direct access to Morzine and the whole Portes du Soleil?

It's overall very family friendly, and the shredders in the crew can easily pop to Morzine and back for some seriously challenging runs.

Les Gets was great, visited on last Saturday and was quire because its still early in the season. We stopped for lunch at LHottys, which had a cozy vibe and good food, though the prices felt a little steep for what was on offer. Overall, it was a great experience
