La Rosière 1850 Review Summary
La Rosière attracts primarily families, beginners, and intermediate skiers who value quiet slopes and wide, well-groomed pistes. The resort is consistently described as family-friendly with minimal lift queues and a relaxed atmosphere. Most reviewers highlight the connection to La Thuile in Italy as a key feature, though access requires two long drag lifts. The south-facing aspect provides sunny conditions but reviewers note this can lead to icy or slushy snow, particularly later in the season or during low snowfall. Advanced skiers find limited challenging terrain on groomed runs but mention accessible off-piste options. Après-ski and nightlife are repeatedly described as minimal, with limited evening activities and early bar closures.

La Rosière connects to the Italian resort of La Thuile which offers more exciting runs and the promise of gelato within a minute's walk of the main lift!
La Rosière has a second hub, called Les Eucherts and both offer ski schools and connectivity with the rest of the resort.
For non-skiers there are activities such as snow shoeing, ski-doo rides and husky sledging.
I completed my first ski season in La Rosière and look forward to taking my children there to learn.
Snowboarders and advanced skiers may find the Espace San Bernardo ski area a bit limiting, compared to nearby Espace Killy or Paradiski.
For more adventurous can always do extra miles and ski over to Italy - la thuile. Choose your day, go for nice weather as valley transition is quite exposed. But worth it to experience and ski a completely different resort in another country!
Not much by way of apres. Not really a resort for that. Bar with outdoor dj and tables with fire pits is fun at Les eucherts part of resort.
Off the snow the forest walk between Les eucherts and la rosiere main is amazing - and the town has all the shops and restaurants youd need.
A great place to ski.
The smaller size had some drawbacks. As a seasonaire, by the end of the season a lot of the space had been explored and après was frequently quiet. Nevertheless, for a week holiday the resort is a perfect size.
This meant we did not have to venture into the neighbouring resort over in Italy too much.
As someone who skis mainly advanced runs and my family ski them with me I did not think if the weather had been good there would have been enough technically to challenge us for the week.
We stayed in Eucherts which is quiet and friendly but limited options to eat and Apres was limited.
That being said the bars were friendly and we made our own chilled out fun.
The connections into Italy were not easy with quite possibly the longest flattest drag I have ever been on but once you are over the runs are long and if you like cruising then its good.
I would say this resort is suited to familys and those of intermediate and below. We did enjoy ourselves but as I said we were very lucky to get some fresh powder.
Nice village and its a good option for chalets.
Disadvantage is not many black runs to choose from.
Did off piste once on the area which was open to all. That was excellent with fresh powder snow.
