Love the place. Super friendly great staff and a real variety of runs. Been a couple of times now and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Good Place to ski, I’d go to le tour or other ski areas nearby as they are also good. Food and drinks was very expensive but that’s to be expected.

Visited Chamonix with a complete beginner skier towards the end of season. Some good conditions on blue runs at brevant but a lot of slush and ice due the the time of year. Le tour is a great option for beginners. For a beginner/intermediate snowboarder, brevant has a couple of nice long blue runs, with a good lift back to the top. Options on the slopes for food/drinks are limited though, but stunning views

Chamonix is beautiful. Skiing there is an amazing experience, in a town with several different areas of pistes. However all the pistes are steep compared to many other resorts making it less beginner friendly. Also its popularity can make the pistes crowded. The global pass that covers everything including visit to Aiguille de Midi, train journey, ice cave etc was well worth the cost especially as it included the Evasion Mont Blanc and St Gervais areas a short train ride from town where the skiing on pistes was easier and more fun

Great variety of slopes, scenery, and difficulty. Everything from a chill day of blues to smashing the hard reds and occasional blacks. Gran montets is great for a more challenging day, but Le tour is a great mix of everything and sweeping long scenic blues to have a relaxed day of gentle carving, or go for the reds and full send for the speed. Les Houches is more of a training area with the only green run I saw, but is so relaxed you can lie back and let the board do the work whilst you sleep. Great for butters or messing about practicing.

Had a fantastic time, and the entire resort caters to all abilities, with views that will leave you in awe and make you forget about the last crash out you just had!

Recommend for the food too!

Went here a couples times as a child with family, loved it so much I moved here for a season. Highly recommend for all day skiing, there’s a few mountains for different ski levels. The locals are good fun too!

There are many good resorts along the valley each with something different to offer. The off piste is world class and the restaurants in town are superb

Brand new to skiing, lovely town. Lots of options for routes and easy to travel by bus and train. The people were lovely!

Very family friendly and newby friendly! Easy to get around and enough slopes for everyone. Lovely village with lots of restraints and rental shops

Been to Chamonix 4 or 5 times. Skip the buses, use the valley train to get to the different ski areas. There’s so much variety and a lot of accessible off/side piste skiing to experience. The town is fab and lots of choice of where to eat in the evenings. Love it

Chamonix is an excellent town, the ski areas are disconnected and not ideal for learning but absolutely stunning and unforgettable. We went mid December and the season doesn’t really start until December 20th, so the town was fairly quiet and not all lifts were open, which is something to bear in mind.

Visit poco loco for a great burger.

Great for racking up different ski slopes including skiing in Italy. Public transport great for getting around, however very busy at times.
Views were incredible.
Found the marketing about skiing on the Vallee Blanch glacier very irresponsible. The requirement to book in advance promotes unnecessary risk for what is a very dangerous ski area with hidden crevasses.

I’ve been to Chamonix 4 or 5 times and it’s hard to beat. On my last visit, with my non-skiing partner, the town is large and interesting enough to make a great place to visit even without winter sports. I always rent a small apartment in Cham Sud which is by the bus station and a little cheaper than central town, but still super convenient. The free buses give easy access to 4 (or more) different ski areas. Cham has a fab choice of restaurants including tasty Indian, vegan food and traditional Alpine restaurants. I hope I’ll be back there soon…

My first visit to this well known Ski resort, I had high expectations.
Some of the disappointments were due to the weather, very little snow in Europe that year. Therefore many lifts were closed so your choices were limited especially for those seeking green runs.
I found the runs very narrow and not like a spread out valley that one would find in the Dolomites for example..
It was incredibly busy. We hadn’t checked the calendar to determine when the school breaks were in England or other nearby countries and there was a plethora of ski students and their families. This made for long waits to get on the lifts, approx 15-20 mins waiting time if you arrived before 10:00, longer if you arrived later in the day.
The largest consideration for deciding if we were to return is the cost. The prices for everything were very inflated compared to our weak Canadian dollar but also more much expensive than Italian ski resorts. The food, the accommodation, transportation etc was sticker shock expensive.
One reasonable cost was the lift tickets, they were cheaper than skiing in the US or Canada.
All the staff at the resort spoke English and were very helpful.

We stayed in Argentiere which was a quiet village just up the valley but had easy access on the bus into town or other ski areas. The village also had its own lift for easy access to ski areas.

Chamonix is great for off piste and advanced skiers but not the best beginners as there are very few accesible green slopes available.

The satellite villages are much more budget friendly, especially if you stay in a UCPA which is like an all inclusive ski hostel.

Lots of good restaurants and bars in town for late in the evening but not the best selection for apres right by the slopes.

Overall a great resort for skiing which is very reasonably priced.

A beautiful historic town with lots going on for non-skiers too. Generally caters better for intermediate or advanced skiing and boarding with free shuttle buses up and down the valley. Not ski-in and out though. However there are beginner slopes easily accessible right in the centre at two locations.
There are incredible views of Mont Blanc from Chamonix and from up high. Don't miss the dizzying heights of the viewing platforms of Aiguille de Midi. If you're feeling adventurous hire a guide to ski the Vallèe Blanche - a day's ski from the Aiguille back to Chamonix. Love this place!

Amazing skiing and apres!! Some tough and challenging slopes and a lot of variety in options depending on desired difficulty. Would 100% go back!

Had one of my best afternoons boarding here! The town itself is amazing, lots of nice places to go out and eat. Stayed at La Folie Douce and that was great with an awesome cocktail bar upstairs and a club that was underneath.

Chamonix is a great destination for an intermediate- advance skier/boarder. It has lots of resort options around the village with good transport connections to other resorts such as Les Houches which is not far and also a great spot for some varied runs. The town is beautiful with great options for food, drink and shopping and there is a great selection of accommodation and ski hire. It is generally a bit more expensive and we felt that in the restaurants. I would 100% go back to Chamonix in the future as it ticks a lot of boxes.

I have skiied Chamonix since I was a child and it is a fantastic resort. The free ski bus up and down the valley to other location (Argentiere and Le Tour etc) is a great amenity. Skiing it self is challenging and varied.
