Been to Avoriaz 3 times now and love it. We were lucky to have significant snowfall on the first day which set the slopes up well for the week ahead. Avoriaz is a perfect resort for families - car free, ski in-ski out, plenty of variety in the skiing and a lot of family friendly apres-ski options. There is an ice-rink in the centre of town, sledging area, bowling alley and Aquariaz (an indoor pool complex) which is more than enough to keep everyone happy.
Plenty of long blue and green runs, tried a couple of red but that was my limit black runs look difficult

As a 16 year old, I have been coming here for min 3 weeks every year, it is my absolute favourite ski resort in the world having skied in multiple continents, not only is it home to the steepest slope in the world, chavanette, but also there is a huge presence of family friendly skiing which over wide long runs between valleys, its 600km of pistes are perfect for every range of skier and my family love it enough to have bought a place in a nearby village, the accommodation is second to none in the Portes du soleil area and one can opt to stay in nearby villages which have quick access to lifts

Avoriaz is a good resort for anyone. It has a good mixture of runs and is great for beginners like me but also advanced skiers like who I was with. There are restaurants and the apres ski as well as snow park and other activities to be involved with.

Did a ski season there, its super connected to the other resorts, its got great views, slopes and variety. Heading over into chatel for great moguls or morzine for nice family areas. The only problem is the night life is not great for party goers compared to other resorts and eating out is not great as theres not any restaurants in budget range

I love the ski in-ski out vibe! Loads of services available in the village. The slopes are always well groomed/maintained even during spring skiing. Chair lifts tend to be a bit busier during holidays - as expected. Fab route straight over into the Swiss alps, which has more advanced skiing in places - Swiss Wall. Would recommend staying in avoriaz, with its friendly vibe and a variety of different routes!

Avoriaz is a ski in ski out resort with no cars and plenty of places to eat and drink. It's part of the portes du soleil so you will never run out of terrain to ski. It has two freestyle parks and the stash which is a natural freestyle park that runs between the trees. More fun than you can have in any ski resort and at 1800m the snow is good late into the year.

Good conditions are normal in Avoriaz, even this year! The main problem is that it gets crowded when the snow is poor elsewhere.
Part of the huge Portes du Soleil ski area. You can ski into Switzerland or over to Chatel, Morzine and Les Gets.
Not as pricey as Val d'Isere and Courcheval and not as stuck up either.
There is often good off-piste but it's not totally reliable.

Resort can get very busy if lack of snow in Morzine or Les Gets. But gives great options to ski across into Switzerland

Beautiful car-free resort with access to a massive ski area, crossing France and Switzerland. Lots of restaurant and bar options, with a Folie Douce located just off the slopes at the top of the town. Perfect for families, with a large number of easier runs and large ski school.

Great resort close to Geneva Airport with access to the vast Port De Soliet area.

Snow sure with a great range of skiing options supported by a very modern lift system.

On hill restaurants are excellent plus options for night in village.

Avoriaz is a great place to ski. There is somthing for everyone including parks, begginer slopes and a decent amount of off piste. It is also higher up than the rest of PDS meaning that chances of snow are much higher. However because this is such a good place to ski it is very busy often waiting in lift queues for a minimum of 30mins during peak season. The apres ski culture here is also very good as it is home to the famous folie douce which despite being expensive is a great experience and the last lift down the mountain goes on very late allowing everyone to safely get down.

Went towards the end of the season but had good conditions, good choice of bars and restaurants from basic to a la carte most hotels are ski in ski out, lifts were excellent.
Would definitely recommend anyone to go there with a good mix of runs for beginners to experienced

We went this year in feb half when nowhere else had snow. We had plenty in the village however didnt really get to explore area much as lower slopes were slushy to lower villages so found we spent a lot of time on chair lifts as runs were not very long. Considering it was half term the lift queues were small which was a blessing compared to other french resorts Ive been to., queued no longer than 5 minutes max which is very appealing. Great ski in ski out resort, traffic free too although we found getting shuttles to apartment was a bit of a pain, waiting in queues for pick up, took ages. Overall village really nice vibe with lots to do.

Avoriaz is a fantastic resort and is massive!! We stayed in Morzine and used the super Morzine lift and it was super quick. You can also stay in Avoriaz but we planned to ski in Morzine but the snow wasnt great as that resort is lower. Avoriaz is very popular so some of the main connecting slopes can get quite busy but because it is so big there are so many options for slopes. You can even ski over to Switzerland for free, which it is beautiful!! There are plenty of places to eat and relax and of course you have the infamous La Folie Dolce for apres ski - It is incredible!! There are plenty of lifts and are two parks as well as some tree lined parks to have some fun in. I would totally go back here again and definitely spend a season here

Avoriaz has everything from beginner slopes to one of the top 5 runs in the world. The Swiss wall has its own category which is an orange run above a black run in Europe. Restaurants that cater for all tastes and pockets. From chalets to apartments to the good old Bed and breakfast. Avoriaz has it all.

Fantastic resort for beginners and experienced snow lovers alike. Had everything on offer from easy access to the lifts and most importantly being able to ski directly to the accommodation and bars. Great selection of runs if you have the ski pass that covers all of the area rather than just Avoriaz. Will be going back next year
