Avoriaz was a great resort from the start the wonderful horse and cart rides instead of cars, The amazing array of accommodations and all the bars and apre ski places to discover.

The resort is for all levels and is very family friendly, everywhere we ate out at was 10/10 and couldnt have asked for more.

Though not particularly high Avoriaz is snow sure with a good variety of runs particularly suited to red run cruisers. Though access can be a nuisance the car free nature of the resort is very welcoming. Variety of accommodation options from pack them in cheap apartments upwards.

Terrific variety and scope of skill with access to the Portes du Soleil resorts.
Not as high as some resorts but there is always snow somewhere - supported by extensive artificial snow coverage. Equally its slopes are often open when higher resorts are closed for high winds.
Mountain eating is more reasonably priced than many resorts.
Good range of non-skiing activities/entertainments available.

Having a compact town centre ski facilities, restaurants and bars are all readily at hand. Ski chalet type accommodation is widely available but the dominating feature of the town is the 3 off 13 storey blocks of flats that follow the face of the mountain. Its surreal to exit the lift on the 13th floor and find yourself at ground level of the next block.
The ski runs are well groomed and offer challenges for all levels of skiers (and boarders). As part of a much wider ski area that takes in Morzine and Les Lindarets there are lots of new runs explore every day.
Just to the side of some the higher runs there are off-piste areas, however you have to be up early to get the best conditions following a fresh fall of snow.
Night life is centred around the restaurants and bars in the main areas which offer selections to suit all tastes.
The out of town parking gives you the opportunity to start and end your holiday with a horse drawn sleigh ride.

Avoriaz has got busier and busier over the years, sometimes becoming unbearable in holiday season. When it is quiet it is close to being one of the most fun resorts in the Alps with the varied terrain and snow parks. The connections to Morzine and Chatel mean that on a busy day you can tap out and chase the open slopes elsewhere, but often as the only place in PDS with snow left it can lead to chaos queues!

Avoriaz is a superb, friendly ski resort. One of the strong points is the size of the Portes du Soleil ski area, with links to Chatel and Morzine. Access to the slopes is very close throughout the resort. The accommodation and dining options are varied and easily accessible on skis. In my opinion, this is one of the best ski resorts in France.

Did my season here, loved it, skiing 144 days in a row. Some of the best apres ever at-happy hours bar.

Avoriaz is a picturesque and overall great resort. It sits at 1800m and is known for having great snow meaning you can expect good skiing from December even into April (snow can be hit and miss at this time though). Lots of bars / restaurant options both in the village and on the slopes so drinks wherever you go! All ski in / ski out with accommodation ranging from apartments to hotels and hostels. Linked to the Porters du Soleil really well meaning you can ski Morzine & Les Gets also, plus can easily enter the Swiss ski area but be careful of the Swiss Wall. Ski schools are great, ESF always do a good job. Slopes for all abilities and very family friendly. Can get very busy at peak times especially if snow conditions in Morzine arent great.

A standout resort in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Avoriaz is one of the most unique destinations among French ski resorts, offering a blend of modern architecture and breathtaking cliff-top scenery. I would recommend this holiday for families and groups of people looking for a great trip!

Great have been many years in a row good altitude so there is lots of snow fall most of the year. There is a lot of spare ski and places to eat

Due to other resorts being slightly lower, it can get very busy during times of relatively low snow. However, the apres, off piste! neighbouring resorts and scenery all make the area worth while. Prices depends heavily on how close to the lifts you want to be, some ranging heavily in prices although there are hostels and cheaper alternatives available.

Avoriaz is a family friendly resort in the french alps, teeming with beautiful vistas over looking mountain peaks, and over 650km of piste. Well groomed slopes greet you every morning, and the snow-sure label lives up to its name. We went in March, and were awarded with blue skies every day ! A great resort for both boarders and skiiers, with a great ski school for wannabe pros and woodland parks for those looking for an adrenaline adventure. Woodland runs take you past on-piste cafes for a coffee break to enjoy the view, and a tropical themed swimming pool will help relax your tired legs, with a hot tub over looking more snow kissed mountains. I highly recommend a trip here

Brilliant resort could not reccomend more, plentiful variety of slope diffuculties so freindly for all levels of skiers/snowboarders. Food is great wherever you go and is not extortionate like other resorts and the people mostly all speak both french and english and are genuine passionate people. Cant wait to go back soon.

Great resort for social aspect. Good folie and lots of good runs. Very snow sure. Less food options and far to get to from airport but its a cool village

Perfect for mile munchers as a base to explore the port du solet. Some fancy apartments or budget options to choose from and lots of activities for the kids.

Prefer some apres and late night boozing, limited options but definitely possible.

Avoriaz is a great resort, its high up so guaranteed good conditions generally. The Porte du soleil pass is huge giving you so much variety and the views are stunning. Great apres with the igloo bar and decent up mountain spots. Loved it there!

A massive resort that connects to loads of amazing slopes and has a real range of places all in little pockets adding a nice interconnected resort with lots of little corners to explore

Is quite busy compared to local resorts but that comes with the variety and if you get the right day, its empty and you can just fly around everywhere. If you know where to avoid as some bottlenecks in the resort, youll do fine

Avoriaz is an amazing resort great for families. Theres an amazing amount of terrain and the resort offers such a variety of big mountain and tree line skiing

Acoriaz is good because of the flexibility of the Ports De Soleil. You have the freedom of skiing Les Ges while also enjoying the slopes in Acoriaz. Tougher, quieter skiing in Les Ges, more relaxed skiing with Apres and family fun in Acoriaz. Down in Morzine the food is incredible and thebchoices for accomodation from budget to luxury are brilliant. Not the best for country or off piste but still plenty to ski

Almost guaranteed snow all through the season and part of the larger Portes du Soleil so you can try multiple runs and resorts.
Ski in and out accommodation.
Perfect for our kids to learn to ski and plenty of variety to challenge them as they progress.
The opportunity to ski over into Switzerland as well is fun.
Loads of choice for eating, drinking and apres!
