Avoriaz Review Summary

Avoriaz attracts a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experts, with many families and groups visiting. Reviewers consistently mention the ski-in/ski-out convenience, car-free village with horse-drawn transport, and access to the large Portes du Soleil area including Switzerland. Snow conditions are generally described as reliable due to altitude, though lower runs can become slushy or icy in afternoons. The après-ski scene, particularly La Folie Douce, is frequently praised. Accommodation is often noted as expensive or basic, and lift queues can be significant during UK and French school holidays.

Avoriaz is my winter paradise. It has something for everyone. When you want busy the vibe is there but on the flip, you want chilled and relaxed its around the corner. The views are breathtaking taking. I never thought a place could feel just so perfect. I visited with a friend and cant wait to visit with my son. This was not just a holiday.its a forever memory.

The best ski resort ever. We absolutely had the best fun! My friends and I were at different levels when it comes to skiing, but there seems to be a run for everyone. The accomodations were extremely pricey but Food and drinks were affordable. There were lots to choose from and that’s quite rare in a resort. You can literally find anything you need up in Avoriaz. Apres ski was fun!

Decent skiing with a wide variety of runs. Apres ski was great and still family friendly. Not a huge amount of off piste but the Swiss wall provides a decent challenge

Had the best time in Avoriaz ! First snowboarding trip ever and to go to Avoriaz as the first one was a 10/10 experience. Was also there for the Snowboxx festival which made the whole trip even better. Ski area is large to the say the least. Did a day trip to Switzerland as well which was really nice.

Great resort. Everything is to hand. Ski in, ski out for everyone.
Well groomed runs, well managed lift queues. Some parts of the resort were so quiet we had the slopes to ourselves.
Avoriaz is well planned and well designed.
Perfect for those who want everything at their fingertips.

Avoriaz is a brilliant ski in and ski out resort. We have been a number of times now and always had lovely conditions, December through to March. Due to the altitude we always feel in a different world, giving it a special feeling. As an intermediate there is so much skiing to be had in avoriaz and then the greater portes du soleil. Great pirates for practicing and more advanced slopes when trying to push yourself. The resort is perfect for those not skiing with plenty to do and ensuring the whole party get that alpine magic. Also we love a few bierre peche in shooters!!

Avoriaz has absolutely everything you could possibly need, regardless of whether you are skiing or not, or a beginner or pro! There are plenty of slopes that you can get on, some are of course way busier than others, but I have been able to get out every single day and make the most of it, even being a beginner on the blues. All of the facilities are amazing, there are so many incredible restaurants and places to stop for drinks, the accommodation is also top tier
