What Skiers Say About Bansko
Bansko attracts predominantly beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting its budget-friendly pricing for accommodation, food, and drink in town. The resort offers around 75km of pistes with a good mix of blues and reds, though advanced riders report the terrain becomes repetitive quickly. The single gondola from town creates significant bottlenecks, with queues frequently exceeding one to two hours during peak periods and school holidays, leading many users to take taxis to mid-station instead. Most reviewers praise the food scene, particularly in the old town, and describe the slopes as well-groomed when snow conditions allow, though coverage at lower elevations can be unreliable early and late season.

However, all the slopes were rammed unless you were off piest. The gondola queue was 4 hours long, the staff were not friendly, we took our own food and drinks on the slopes because of business of the cafes.
The resort is unfortunately a bit too popular and busy during February which results in lots of queuing to get up the mountain
Super fun bars to visit on the ski road on the way down!
Prices on the mountain are expensive, comparable to France.
Prices off the mountain are cheap. Not as cheap as it used to be but still cheap.
The main issue with Bansko is the wait time for the Gondola to get up the mountain (it’s not Ski In/Ski Out). At peak times it can be hours. You can get a taxi or bus up but it will cost you more money. Your Ski Pass doesn’t cover this.
Apres Ski is 10/10. Lots going on in Bansko. It’s not Snow Sure but each time I’ve been the snow has been OK or good.
Plenty of lifts. Some good runs. Ski Road is really good.
