What Skiers Say About St. Anton am Arlberg

St. Anton attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers, with multiple reviewers noting it is not well-suited for beginners due to steep terrain and limited easy runs. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaroo, is the most consistently praised aspect across reviews. The ski area is described as vast and well-connected to Lech and Zürs, with well-groomed pistes and modern lift infrastructure. Reviewers frequently mention high prices for accommodation, food, and general expenses. Several users note that late-season or low-snow conditions lead to icy slopes and challenging conditions on lower-altitude runs, particularly the home run into town.

When we visited the conditions weren’t amazing due to lack of snow and icy slopes. however, the runs were still pretty good considering and the lifts were fast flowing despite some runs being closed. the food and service in the area was always amazing. the apres was the best i’ve ever experienced

Not sure about the hype of St Anton personally. Nice town with great accommodation but the lift system is a bit dated and small for the volume of skiiers. It's attached to Lech though and the powder bowls over that side are mega.

Apres is for the younger crowds - Krazy Kangaroo was bouncing and rammed full of teenagers drinking Jaeger and bopping to euro-dance music, so if that's your thing go for it.

Big resort with plenty of runs for all abilities.

The apres bars were far too busy and everyone had to pile into a few different spots.

Amazing ski resort one the best I’ve visited over the past 30 years. Apres is hands down the best I’ve experienced and the skiing is amazing if you head over to lech and Zurs.

Went here on a boys trip and had the best of times. Tons of interconnected terrain and AMAZING apre ski. Relatively affordable compared to Switzerland or France. They call it St. Manton for a reason, there are many more guys than girls.

Great ski school, well maintained slopes and no long queues at lifts. Really good Apres scene but food not as good as at the French resorts. Not the most beginner friendly resort but plenty of slopes if you are comfortable on a red.

I like off-piste in the trees - not much here. Some general slope side off-piste, but unless you have avalanche gear/training and a guide, the back country is off limits.
Pistes are grand but a bit crowded.
Good beers etc, but I guess the resort is a bit talked up as a Mecca and it was a bit meh…

One of the pricier options in the alps, but worth it. Relaxed atmosphere.
Challenging to get around if lifts close, but that was only one day.
Nice range of slopes. Easy to go on a full day adventure to other resorts. Fantastic landscape.

Great resort with plenty of slopes. Not an ideal place for beginners, but a great resort for intermediate and expert skiers. Snow wasn’t amazing at the time so no off piste, but if it is covered in snow I can imagine the off piste skiing would be excellent. An expensive resort, even for the alps, but the restaurants serve what you would expect from a ski resort. Gulash soup was amazing! Very well groomed slopes - in places it was amazing what they had done to keep the slopes open despite grass being in sight around the pistes. Would recommend.

Best time of my life. This place is like a mountain range connected with 100 ski lifts during a powder day. There’s no comparing this place to any other. The rain is incredible. And then the Apres Ski is next level. Disco’s staying open till six in the morning.

Easy to access by train from many places - I took a train from Zurich. Fab resort with loads of food options, excellent ski area and hilarious aprés ski. We stayed at Arpuria who do a free shuttle but it’s also an easy downhill walk into town. It’s adults only and has an amazing pool and spa area.

Fun, sunny groomed runs with great après and mid mountain lunch spots. Many lifts and rarely did multiple runs from one lift in a row which can be complicated for groups to keep themselves organized. Enjoyed skiing to/from different towns. Would recommend taking the train into St Anton
