What Skiers Say About St. Anton am Arlberg

St. Anton attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers, with multiple reviewers noting it is not well-suited for beginners due to steep terrain and limited easy runs. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaroo, is the most consistently praised aspect across reviews. The ski area is described as vast and well-connected to Lech and Zürs, with well-groomed pistes and modern lift infrastructure. Reviewers frequently mention high prices for accommodation, food, and general expenses. Several users note that late-season or low-snow conditions lead to icy slopes and challenging conditions on lower-altitude runs, particularly the home run into town.

Had a great time at the resort and is easy to get a bus or taxi to other areas for quieter slopes. Loved the ski show they put on every week in the evening.

2nd time in St Anton.
We arrived before a big dump of snow. There had been no show for around 3 weeks. They did a really good job of keeping the slopes nice by making lots of snow. Lucky it was cold.
The area is not great for beginners

You can get the train straight to the resort, which is ideal and much more easy.
The skiing is amazing here, maybe better to come in non peak times (school holidays) as the slopes were busy, but still great snow and slopes.
The apres in Austria tops that in France any day of the week!
Great fun, highly recommend

The best apre ski restort hands down. No one does it better. Plenty of hotel options at varied prices. Lots of places to eat and takeaways if you want to stay locked away in the villa or hotel room. Some of the hotels out of the centre are up some steep hills but the buses run very often and are free so these can be used. Ski area more suited to intermediate / advanced skiers but there are many incredible long runs to enjoy. You will never get bored skiing in st anton due to the size of the area. We have been here multiple times and will keep going back. (Team kangaroo bar!)

We have been to St Anton many times. It's an amazing ski resort with an absolutely huge ski area. You can go time and time again and still find something new.

The town is beautiful and the people are super friendly and welcoming. The apres ski is AMAZING. The famous Mooserwirt is a total joy if you like it load and lively but there are also plenty of quieter places too.

Eating out on the mountain or in the town is superb. We have never had a bad meal. The Galzig bar is a firm favourite for lunch or dinner. Up the mountains there are some lovely restaurants across the whole ski area and into Zurs and Lech. The more cafeteria style restaurants on Rendl, Galzig and Gampen, whilst less traditional and restaurant like are stll very impressive with huge variety, portions and spectacular views. Get there early (or late) at lunch time to grab a spot on the balcony if the sun is out.

The lifts in the Arlberg area are outstanding, and the pistes are expertly maintained. We've been there late in the season and conditions have still been very good even in warmer weather. Much of this is down to how well they are kept.

There are a huge variety of slopes for all abilities. I guess for beginners it could feel a bit steep but my two children learned here and they have progressed really well. An added bonus is that the nursery slopes are very quiet as the average ability of skiers here is very high so you have plenty of room.

Overall I cannot fault St Anton. It's a brilliant resort and scores highly for everything you'd want for a ski holiday.

I’m currently doing a ski season in St Anton so I’ve completed nearly 30 days of skiing on the mountain and it’s fantastic! The mountain is massive and you will never run out of runs to do. It is a steep mountain so not great for beginners but great for those who love skiing. We have done a bit of off piste which has had some great powder from January onwards. We love the apres bars and like that there is a range from cheap to expensive. However, not many cafes/bars spread throughout the mountain - I’ve skied in Austria before at Skiwelt Hopfgarten and there were far more cafes spread throughout the mountain which I prefer. St Anton town itself is great - a lot of ski shops (expensive but to be expected in a small ski town) and also lots of great bars to choose from.

One of the best resorts in the world for touring, partying, and posted runs. Covers a vast area of the Arlberg with plenty of skiing for all levels. The new network of lifts connecting to Lech provides a world class playground. Make sure you give yourself time to do the tour of the white ring!

St Anton was a great snow trip last year. Absolutely made the most of spring with blue birds everyday at the end of much, minimal fresh snow whilst we were there, but enough of a base that it was fun and well groomed / becoming slushy and good for the parks. Multiple good aprés spots and a nice town to eat out in.

The negative is the blue run back into the village is quite low altitude, is badly cut up early as everyone rushes to apres. We visited in late March and it was extremely slushy. This makes it difficult for beginners.
