What Skiers Say About St. Anton am Arlberg

St. Anton attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers, with multiple reviewers noting it is not well-suited for beginners due to steep terrain and limited easy runs. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaroo, is the most consistently praised aspect across reviews. The ski area is described as vast and well-connected to Lech and Zürs, with well-groomed pistes and modern lift infrastructure. Reviewers frequently mention high prices for accommodation, food, and general expenses. Several users note that late-season or low-snow conditions lead to icy slopes and challenging conditions on lower-altitude runs, particularly the home run into town.

What a great resort, Im certain its the best resort for ski and apres, not only great variety in runs but it all seems to funnel back down into the town, witch have some fantastic bars and restaurants.

Mooserwirt and krazy kanguruh where to begin some of if not the best apres in Europe, it has to be experienced. Also sennhütte is a greate restaurant normally have a live band and great food and is just right above mooserwirt.

St anton also has some great connections like st christoph, stuben, zürs and lech witch means you have a lot of fantastic options for some great skiing witch only bolsters its reputation as great must go to resort.

We were five adult males sharing an apartment in St Anton, it was strange we didnt have an oven but had a stove top and microwave. The hill climb to the apartment was gruelling.
We had five days skiing and five days of different conditions, 2 perfectly groomed slopes with sunshine absolutely beautiful scenery. 1 day with most lifts being closed, the lifts ended up very cut up. We had 1 day with low light, low cloud and tough skiing. The last day we had a snow dump and with every lift open we had perfect pow conditions, so much fun it was hard to contain the joy.
The food was delicious in almost every restaurant we ate in, from small mountain top authentic cuisine to town centre steakhouse. As a whole St Anton is a fantastic resort that wed be happy to visit again.

St Anton am Arlberg offers an extensive range of pistes and amazing views.
The ski resort is great for more advanced skiers and boarders due to the choice of red, black and off piste runs is extremely large however, for beginners this can pose a challenge. At the time I went Jan 24 the only way to complete a Talabfahrt included a tricky black run making it near impossible for beginners. The greats selection of slopes allows for an alternative at any level of busyness and weather. In the case that it is very busy the Gampenbahn is only an 5min walk from the main lift and usually a lot quieter. Also I highly recommend skiing to lech for a day it is a challenging and fun ski which can be rewarded with a excellent schnitzel.

First time skiing in Austria and I was very impressed with the slopes and lifts. The grading here is definitely more on the high side compared to France. What would be a black slope in France is a red run here, but that didn't bother us. They also have 'Ski routes' which are marked off piste routes.
Like many resorts the runs back down to town get very busy and chewed up in the afternoon.
The piste map is terrible! You do have to find your way a bit! To reach some areas you have to use cable cars, but they are fast and efficient. The queues were almost non-existent the week we were there in early March.
The apres ski is the reason a lot of people return here every year. The bars near the end of the slope are legendary and have to be seen to be believed! The bars in town are also excellent.
We had a couple of days of snow, so the off piste areas became very popular, very quickly.
I'd definitely come back.

St anton is certainly not for beginners, this resort is hugely popular but due to the narrow nature of numerous pistes is more difficult to ski than majority of French resorts that I have skied previously. The nightlife is absolutely fantastic with two of the best apres ski bars in the Alps in Krazy Kangaroo and Moosewirt which sit slightly above the town and are an absolute must visit! The ski area is large with access to Lechs and other areas although can be difficult if snow conditions are poor and require a bus to get across. The skiing itself is great if you are looking for a challenge and well worth a try!

St Anton is a fantastic town, with access to almost an unlimited amount of runs. If you decide not to ski, but want to join apres, then I recommend to take the #3 bus (which is free) rather than walking up the ski slope.

Very busy but fun resort, great for apre and slightly more advanced skiing.

Althought it is advisable to not take beginners, I did actually learn to ski here and loved it!

Pistes are well groomed, bars are busy, lifts and Qs arent bad at all

St Anton is a fantastic ski holiday destination. The ski area is huge, not over crowded with great areas of off piste! Our group loved the Austrian food - we ate out for lunch and dinner a few times. There are lots of apres-ski bars to try and we just about got round them all! Loved every minute of it - would 100% recommend this resort

St. Anton at its own is a pure powder paradise. For Freeride its perfect. The snow over the winter is most of the the time really light and good for deep pow. With the chairlift you reach a lot of powder runs without walking higher at the top. One Problem here is that some chairlifts are a bit old and slow.
The slopes for the people who dont want to go off pist are every day new shaped and varied. Some black runs and some red and for the family some blue runs.
With the new Flexenbahn a connection is build to Zürs, where you can ski a lot more slopes. The Advantage of this connection is that, the resort is very big and most of the time you do not need to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes at the chairlift

Im currently spending my second full season here in St Anton am Arlberg, and I must say that this place is paradise for young people. Endless possibilities for free riding and the best apres ski in the world. My first season was spent mostly snowboarding and my second has up until now mostly been spent skiing. I can tell you this resort accommodates both sports fantastic! There are very few long traverses so you never feel bogged down as a snowboarder. The groomers on this resort however leave a little bit to be desired. They are not in any way bad, however they can be a quite narrow and short this in difference to a lot of other European resort.

Moving on to the apres ski, St Anton really shines! With legendary spots such as Krazy Kanguruh and Mooserwirt almost as famous as the resort itself. These places never disappoint. Open until 20:00 they give you a unique apres ski experience unlike any other in Europe.

Dining out in St Anton is also very good! Consisting of both high end steakhouses such as Hazienda and more traditional Austrian restaurants such as Fuhrmans Stube this village truly has it all! Whatever kind of food youre into, its there!

I would however say that St Anton am Arlberg is definitely a resort more catered towards young people and couples than families. The skiing can be quite challenging at times and the weather here is not as forgiving as in other places in Europe.

In closing I would say that St Anton is a perfect resort for the kind of people who like to go hard both while skiing and on the apres ski! This is definitely a place worth visiting!

St Anton has everything you could ask for for a ski resort. The runs are plentiful and perfect, the resort in general is family friendly and yet also has that Aprés vibe you dont find anywhere else.
There is plenty of skiing to be done here and plenty of options from off piste to on.
Definitely more of a beginners ski resort but one that even the most experienced skiers will struggle not to enjoy.

World renowned for its après ski and advanced terrain, this is one Austrian resort not to miss!

With a great selection of pistes, and a large ski area, theres plenty to test even the most advanced skiers. Then for apres ski, bars like the legendary Mooserwirt are in a league of their own.

Not the best resort for families or beginners, but by god its good fun!

Incredible variation of ski runs, we were able to go over to Lech and st Christoph within a few hours. Really good snowfall despite going late March 2023. The restaurant options were varied, and the night life was also incredible with live music. The highlight was the Aprés Ski, Krazy kangaruh to be specific lived up to the expectations. Would highly recommend if you are not on a super tight budget.
