What Skiers Say About St. Anton am Arlberg

St. Anton attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers, with multiple reviewers noting it is not well-suited for beginners due to steep terrain and limited easy runs. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Mooserwirt and Krazy Kangaroo, is the most consistently praised aspect across reviews. The ski area is described as vast and well-connected to Lech and Zürs, with well-groomed pistes and modern lift infrastructure. Reviewers frequently mention high prices for accommodation, food, and general expenses. Several users note that late-season or low-snow conditions lead to icy slopes and challenging conditions on lower-altitude runs, particularly the home run into town.

St. Anton is one of my favourite ski resorts in the world. The amount of groomed terrain you have access to in the arlberg region. It also boasts some of the best apres bars in the world even allowing on piste partying. Every skier/snowboarder should go at least once.

I went to St. Anton when I was a bit of a novice skier, with friends whose skills were both above and below mine, and we all had an amazing time. It was an incredible week and helped me improve immensely, and whenever anyone mentions Austrian skiing I cant help brag that I went there. Apres at Moosewirt and KKs are also obviously world renowned and certainly worth going to St. Anton for alone. Highly recommend

An excellent resort for skiers who have reached an intermediate level. There are not many easy easy beginner slopes. Theres a wide range of slopes all the way to Lech and Zurs. The moose and the krazy kangaroo are great for Apres ski as well as places in the town centre. Brilliant ski show every Wednesday too. Accommodation js expensive but can find cheaper places a short bus ride out of the town in places like Flirche. Overall fantastic resort.

Great resort, I loved it as a snowboarder. But maybe not the most beginner friendly resort. Only a few slopes suitable for new skiiers.

I have been going to St. Anton every year since I was 4, it is amazing to see how the resort has development in the last 20 years with constant new lifts opening & amazing facilities including a swimming pool & a train station. The restaurants and bars up and down the mountain are world class & the ski schools cater to all levels brilliantly. My favourite place in the world, I cant ever imagine saying goodbye to St. Anton

I spend a full 6 months here pre Brexit.

The town is quite well known for its party scene, the apres is insane boasting the oldest apres bar in the Alps(mooservirt) think German/Austrian drinking songs and steins dancing in tables.

Skiing here is a little more advanced I found. You have access to ski all the way over to lech which is a good day out, you can get the bus back to st Anton Inc with your ski pass.

Being an actual town first and secondly a ski location you find a lot of character, it's a beautiful traditional looking Austrian alpine town. Some great local restaurants like underground on the piste. Plenty of bars and clubs all mostly on the main street through the town. Lifts are all a short walk away from accommodation.

Plenty of ski schools for kids and family friendly options.

Highly recommend the resort

Skiing in February - slopes in the morning are great, we'll groomed and up top lush powder. As the sun beats down on the slopes the powder becomes slush and chop and the runs get harder and harder on the legs. There's a black or a narrow blue back to town, the black is chop and mogul at this point, but the blue is overcrowded with bad visibility. At the beginning of the season this would have been great, however mid-season by the end of the week grass is visible on the lower slopes and snow cannons are the only way to get any routes back into town, but sometimes it's not cold enough over night. Once you're back in town wow, 2 legendary Apres bars and bluebird skies, now I'm not complaining too much as I'm sweating with a cold stein listening and dancing to cheesy euro-trash which accompanies the Austrian apres ski so well, arguably more fun than the anglosized music from the French alps.

St. Anton has some of the best groomed long runs anywhere around. It also have the most amazing selection of marked and signed off piste "ski-routes" so is perfect for the off piste minded skier.

St Anton does not have the same Après style as many of the resorts in the Alpes, but has a unique blend of flowing rolling mountains allowing incredible off piste touring ability and wide and steep off piste.

The groomed run quality is great in the morning, however many of the main routes do get very bumpy in the afternoon, as there are only a few main runs to the bottom.

Many of the lifts are telecabin style instead of chairlifts, making the resort ideal for snowboarding with ease, but making skiing slightly more tiresome.

Not as massive in terms of ski area compared to somewhere like the three valleys, but for a 4 day trip after heavy snowfall, there's not many places better.

St. Anton is a great place to visit if you want what I look for in a resort. Great slopes and lots of them. Easy offpiste access from lifts. Lots of that aswell. And great afterski and nice places to eat out. Great austrian atmosphere.
All in all a great place which I have visited several times. By the way, if you are new on skis I would pick another place than St. Anton.

Very good resort - loved it. The runs were great and the lists were very quick. The only thing I thought bad was that the food prices in mountain restaurants was extortionate. 40 for a Wiener schnitzel! Thanks.

St Anton is a great resort were you can find amazing terrain on and off piste . The standard of skiing is high with cosmopolitan crowd of people . It is a great leveller people think they can ski until arriving in St Anton .
I have a great passion for skiing and St Anton never fails to deliver
I have the pleasure of skiing off piste with Piste to Powder and found the service first class guides. The mountain restaurant are good and the apres ski is on another level . I feel to get the best out of this resort you need to be of reasonable standard . However its certainly worth going to the excellent ski school which l have been to if you want to improve .

St. Anton is a beautiful resort that caters to many different types of skiers, it offers quiet and gentle blues for beginners, fast reds, not too icy blacks, and SO MUCH beautiful off-piste skiing. The ski area is huge so you are spoilt for choice of where to go. You can easily spend a week here exploring new areas.

The town is brilliant, with lots of choices for restaurants and bars. The apres is brilliant. There is a variety of accommodation ranging from luxury to cheaper options.
