Loved Söll and the whole of the vast ski welt area. The village itself is quieter now than it was ten years ago but still has a few apres ski bars. Lots of lovely food options.
The villagers are generally lovely and very welcoming.
I would say the ski welt area is more suited to intermediate skiers and the mountain at the top of the soll gondola is definitely more suited for intermediates.

When I went in January the resort was empty so had the slopes to ourselves .
Resort was aimed at the older crowd but couldn't fault the hotel and the food.

I went in March so the snow wasnt the best but they did their best to keep the mountain going. The apres ski wasn't great at all most places had closed for the season. But we went with family so we all have a great time and would go back because it seams like it would be better earlier in the year

Huge number of runs in the Skiwelt area and new high speed lifts are the norm. Great for cruising reds in Soll, enough blues for a first week beginner but intermediates would be better in Scheffau as you cant travel around without going on reds. Some steep groomed blacks for a good challenge. Not many unpisted runs, some good ski routes for advanced skiers with enough snow cover.
Not the highest altitude so can struggle when theres less snow with runs down to the valley. Its not the easiest to travel around the different villages, sometimes 2 or 3 runs and lifts are needed.
Lots of excellent and reasonably priced mountain huts with Austrian food and a good few apres bars. The village has a good variety of bars, restaurants and hotels. Most hotels do good half-board. The Irish pub the Whiskey Muhle is great and has live music every day.

The Skiwelt area is vast and very well serviced . In one pass you can ski six resorts and can ski too and from all and no need to get a bus anywhere . If you get the Allstar pass you can also ski Kitzbuhel.

We went mid March 2024 so the snow wasnt great, others we spoke to had been that time of year and it had always been better. It was too warm to make snow so we made the most of the runs that were open and they seemed efficient at keeping things running as best they could, it also meant it was quieter than expected there are many options for apres but we dont feel we got to experience that really! Hotels are good with lots of options the bus runs efficiently along with ski/boot hire in resort and lockers available just off the slope at the bottom (slope wasnt open but gondola brings you down) overall still a good holiday but could have been better conditions it was the worst we have know it!

I have skied in this resort for many years. One of the reasons I return is because of the friendliness of the locals and the fact that I have found an absolutely fabulous hotel where nothing is to much trouble. There is a good variety of slopes for all abilities as the skiwald region has a vast integrated lift system that can take skiing throughout the area (to appreciate the extent if you haven't been before) you need to sudy the piste map. I no longer ski as hard and fast as I used to (I am now seventy) but there is still plenty for me
