What is Park Skiing?

Park skiing is a discipline within skiing that involves performing tricks in terrain parks, (also known as snow parks) which are specifically designed areas within ski resorts. Snow parks are built to include various features such as rails, boxes, wallrides, tabletops and jumps (also known as kickers) and some even include quarterpipes or halfpipes among other features. These features range in size and difficulty level to suit different abilities. Snow parks can range from fun and smaller kids parks to snow parks built with 'pro lines' with huge kickers and technical rails. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders perfrom tricks on the various features including jumps, spins, flips, grinds and rail slides. Some terrain parks even include airbags to provide a soft and safe landing for freestylers attempting to learn and practice new tricks.
