What Skiers Say About Sölden

Sölden attracts predominantly intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders seeking reliable snow conditions and extensive terrain. Reviewers consistently highlight the glacier access, long wide runs, modern lift infrastructure, and vibrant après-ski scene. The resort draws mixed-ability groups and those looking for high-altitude skiing with good snow coverage throughout the season. Common criticisms include crowding during peak periods, expensive lift passes relative to terrain size, and challenging home runs in warm conditions. Several users note the resort feels less traditionally Austrian and more commercialised than comparable destinations.

I just keep going back for more.
Great ski area with plenty of choice from challenging runs to some really fun free skiing Solden offers it all.
Solden itself offers plenty from wine bars to more lively apres. At the end of a day up the mountain I recommend Marcos bar for a beer or maybe more.
If youre not wanting to ski everyday then the 007 Elements experience is a must for any fan or film buff or try the water park at Langenfeld which is only a short free bus ride away down the valley.

Great resort with lots of pistes, but not a great range of runs for beginners with a lot of blues being quite difficult and steep.

I have skied Solden twice in 2023 and 2022 and absolutely loved it The skiing, the runs the restaurants and apres ski was outstanding. Two of the best ski holidays ever and I have been skiing for 30 years. We love Austria and until Solden my fave European resort was St Anton. Solden has everything you need and more !

I Had an excellent instructor for transitioning between skiing and snowboarding highly skilled and professional instructors, friendly too. Apres ski is fantastic and we stayed in very comfortable and cosy apartment . Loved the long, perfectly manicured pistes and so many options so each day is exciting and challenging for both beginners to advanced. The ski lifts are plentiful and of high quality so I felt safe all the time. Easy access from Innsbruck by car bus or train. Twisted my ankle and received amazing healthcare in the local hospital. Highly recommend Solden for a great ski holiday as well as being family friendly

As a beginner I really enjoyed this resort as it had enough green/blue slopes to be able to learn on yet still feel like there was variety during the week. I joined the ski school with the green flag and they were great at allowing us to go at the pace we needed, but also push us out of our comfort zones when needed too. My friends who were more experienced skiers also really enjoyed the range of runs around the resort and the ability to ski between mountains. Only downside is that accessibility is a little difficult if youre a beginner and cant take the ski road home.

We went to Solden last winter and it was an amazing experience. The runs are well maintained, and we really enjoyed going down one of the longest resort run in Europe. We also got to visit the 007 experience which is very cool

Really great resort for skiing in Austria. Lots of track to ski and very accessible for all levels. Good nightlife, but can be a bit raucous.

Went there with my family for many years in a row. The resort is only getting better with time but unfortunately, more people also start visiting it. Due to this, some slopes can become overcrowded and bumpy by the end of the day. It is very convenient to stay in a hotel located on the upper part of the resort. This allows you to stay at the apres-ski til late and easily return back to the accommodation. Overall, would definitely recommend Sölden to everyone, regardless of their age, nationality, riding type and level.

Spent the day at this resort. Beautiful scenery and facilities. The black slopes are a bit lacklustre but great fun nevertheless. Beautiful resort and great slopes just for having fun which is never a bad thing.

Sölden was a fantastic trip for myself and my partner. The skiing was fantastic, with pistes maintained to perfection. The Apres was good but not to the levels of Val D. However, restaurants within sölden were excellent and shopping was also good. There are plenty of high quality hotels and apartments. The trip is generally more expensive than France but I would argue that it is worth if for the high quality skiing.

We really enjoyed our group trip to Solden last year having not skied much in Austria. It wasnt too busy with people spread out over the large ski area. The snow quality was fantastic with several powder days during the week and there were very few people skiing off piste so the remained mostly untracked so we enjoyed it all day. Having the 2 glaciers means the resort has an incredibly long season. The lifts were modern and efficient. We definitely would be keen to go back.

Solden was a great place to ski. Good apres ski, advanced skiing and so many great restaurants!
The hotels are incredible and service was always friendly. We used the bergland for its spa facilities and I have to say this was the best spa Ive ever been to.

An excellent result with very good facilities and easy access to all of the terrain. The on mountain restaurants are great value for money with very good food and the whole area is very well organised. The towns have enough going on to get your occupied in the evening But nothing is overpriced.

Superb snow sure resort, quite a trek unless you can fly to Innsbruck (where the transfer time is quick) Plenty of options to ski high up, also free but to Obergurgl is recommended and included in the lift pass. Loads of great restaurants, booking not usually possible but they are pretty good at fitting you in. As with most Austrian resorts the lifts are excellent. Apres good, but not right up there with Ishgl or St Anton. Town isn't as pretty as some, but lots of Shops, Bars etc. Have been 3 times and would happily return.

Went solden and obergurgl last year and loved it! Lots of choice for runs!
We were late season, so by the end of the day the lower runs were mogely and slushy but the runs were well managed considering
