This is a sweet but very small resort. Two ski areas for advanced skiers with limited runs. The village is small enough to walk around. Ski buses take you from place to place but there is still a bit of clomping around in ski boots required.

Our visit to Seefeld from 14th to 21st March was very much end of season for the resort. My wife and I chose Seefeld mainly because of the very short transfer from Innsbruck and because there is quite a large dedicated nursery area, served by the Geigenbuhel and Birken lifts, which would have suited my wife as a beginner. Unfortunately, the snow had gone from this lower area and so it had been closed for a week or two. There was, however, as small, separate nusery area at Rosshutte. It was fairly busy with German and Austrian school kids in the mornings, but deserted in the afternoons. So she was able to enjoy some skiing in this area. Away from this nursery area there was very little snow off the pistes and about half of the lifts and pistes were closed, but there was still a reasonable amount of, generally intermediate level, skiing to be had in what isn't a very extensive resort. The remaining pistes were well looked after. Being end of season the slopes were very uncrowded which was great.
The smaller Gschwandtkopt area linked by the ski bus had only 3 lifts open, with the links to Mosern closed. However, as the main area comprising a very wide undulating slope served by a chair lift was pretty much empty and you could go where you liked, it was great fun. I did wonder whether it would be bedlam if it was busy?
In the Gschandtkopt Nordic 365 Arena, we enjoyed a very reasonably priced, conducted tour of the ski jumps. Very impressive and scary!
As my wife is a beginner and I'm a more enthusiastic intermediate skier and so we don't ski together much, I wanted to join ski school to have some company. But I hadn't realised that the group lessons closed just before we arrived! However, I did enjoy skiing on my own. I think this was helped by the area being quite limited so that frequent stops to study a map wasn't required and I didn't get lost.
We stayed at The Post Hotel which served very good food and was quiet but lovely. We enjoyed the swimming and whirl pools.
In summary, a much more enjoyable holiday than we expected on arrival.
