Spent a week half board in a Saalbach hotel. Fantastic extensive ski area, well maintained runs. Excellent signposting, you rarely need to look at the piste map. Mountain facilities and restaurants are superb. All chair lifts and gondolas very modern. Most chair lifts had heated seats. Village is compact and lifts easily accessed. Lots of bars and restaurants if eating out. Apres Ski was great. Would definitely visit here again.

The ski resort that I have most visited in Austria. It offers runs for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Excellent off-piste terrains. It does not get as busy and rowdy as many other resorts. Great for families, couples and solo travelers. Traditional and cosy.

Huge skiing area with plenty of different runs whether beginner or advanced - modern lifts, some with heated seats (gone are the days you freeze on a chair lift! With great restaurants up the mountain all around, after skiing there are a number of spa hotels to relax before or go and enjoy the amazing apres ski where outdoor live music starts at a number of venues through the resort and up the mountain, and carries on indoor at other venues later on. The atmosphere and friendliness in the town is like no other, people continually return every year that you get to know the locals and sometimes bump into tourists you met in years gone by.

Great resort with four distinct areas to ski. Can get warm due to low altitude which can effect the snow, but if conditions are good you wont beat the skiing!Apres good fun, with Saalbach a bit quieter than Hinter. Lots of food options to suit different budgets. Same with accommodation

The ski area is huge here which really helps if coming later in the season as there is always good snow to be found. It's a really good vibe in resort - great for young people with a mind to apres ski and also great for families too with lots of facilities and a laid back feel.I stayed in Salbach and there were a good range of food and accomodation options available. I think this is a great all round resort with something for everyone.

Resort is very well set up for families particularly with younger children or a range of abilities. It is easy to juggle a teen who wants to be in the fun park and a much younger skier. Lovely restaurants. Also a great swimming pool and ice rink just down the road in Zell am See for after skiing relaxation and fun.

Great bus service all through valley to arrive at various lifts giving access to the full mountain.Fantastically maintained and efficient ski lift structure. Unfortunately with climate change it was apparent that the lower runs that take you down into saalbach- hinterglemm valley were maintained by man made snow. With this in mind , only at the very top of the resort mountain range was there very good snow for skiing. After a few hours in the morning , when the sun was fully out , the snow quality quickly deteriorated and the skiing less enjoyable.Nonetheless, the resort had fantastic cafes and bars all around the mountain at various heights, great value for money, nice Austrian food and the base of the valley was a great place to stay. On the weekend we were leaving Dutch week was starting. Although it looked fantastic fun, this is a week I would avoid unless you are fully part of it! Be careful of what appeared to be the taxi mafia!!
