Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Review Summary

Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and some experts, with multiple users noting the extensive, well-connected ski area and modern lift infrastructure. The resort is consistently praised for efficient lifts with heated seats, well-groomed pistes, and lively après-ski atmosphere. Reviewers repeatedly mention the large ski area with good variety of runs, excellent mountain restaurants, and friendly locals. Common criticisms centre on lower altitude leading to poor snow conditions in late season or warm weather, with afternoon slush frequently mentioned. Some users note that blue runs can be challenging for true beginners, and a few mention busy periods with queues at main lifts.

What can I say. I went on my very first ski trip to Saalbach in February this year with my partner who has been to Saalbach before.

I absolutely loved it!!!

Everyone we spoke to there was lovely and the vibes were everything I was hoping they would be. Everyone was there to have a great time and I even got helped down a spicy red run by two lovely German fellows who were very encouraging and helped me overcome my fear of steeper slopes!

Theres no judging of people on runs, everyone just seems to get on with each other and the nightlife particularly at Soul House is incredible!!! Hopefully Rifforama are still playing as they were absolutely fantastic and got everyone singing and dancing!

As for the lifts, they were modern and easy to navigate, everything worked perfectly, and there were plenty of gorgeous runs for people of all abilities which was great!

Would 100% go back, I have so many great memories and cant thank the people of Saalbach enough for making my first ski trip one of the best times of my life!

Good range of runs. Excellent for intermediate riders. We stayed in Feiberbrunn which has limited apres ski and restaurant options but Saalbach and other valleys have plenty. 3 valleys interconnected for the one alpin ski pass is what sells this area for me. We have spent 6 days here and didnt see all the area let alone ski even a 3rd of the runs

Great place to Ski. Very family friendly and the lift system is unbeatable. Especially as they upgrade lifts every year. Plenty of skiing options with huge amounts of access everywhere. Really good food options in the mountain huts if you find a quiet one it is unbeatable. Been skiing here for over 10 years and nothing beats it. Highly recommended.

I have been visiting Hinterglemm every year for the last 15 years. It is a classic Austrian resort: efficient, organised and well serviced by a modern lift system. Queues are a rarity and where they are found it is usually only for a few minutes at most.
The ski area is huge with slopes to cater for all levels. Off piste is there to be found but anything under a lift line is liable to be tracked out fairly quickly. A short walk and a good interrogation of google maps can prove fruitful.
Après ski is spot on. The Goatstall and Drive through bar are always bouncing at the end of the day.
Eating out has plentiful options. Hinterglemm has slowly phased out any real semblance of nightlife. Once upon a time there were numerous late night options to choose from. These days you really need to head to Saalbach if you want to take the party into the night.
This is a shame as a rowdy game of nails followed by the London pub was always a highlight.
Night skiing is great fun on the floodlight slope and the resort has a huge number of high quality eateries on the mountain many of which are decent value for money.
If you come to this neck of the woods, you are doing yourself a disservice by not visiting the chicken restaurant towards Leogang. Reserve early. Eat well!!
In summary, in everything aside from nightlife, Hinterglemm gets a big thumbs up.

Visited this resort many times over the last 15 years and every year it has invested and improved. Every season there are lift upgrades, better connectivity and links to adjoining areas. The Leogang and Fiberbrun sides are particularly good, less crowded, more varied with some long wide runs through the trees. The hospitality and on mountain evening events are well thought out and enjoyable. Of you want a more party vibe head to Saalbch.

Being able to ski the length of the valley on both sides, in either direction, allows you to optimize the snow conditions based on the weather conditions. All lifts in the Saalbach / Hinterglemm valley arrive at a ski bus stop so perfect for a mixed group or meeting up for lunch or apres with a non skiing friend. The walkers pass includes all buses and 2 lifts up & down each day.

Fab mixture of runs to please everyone, ski the challenges where the FIS races at Hinterglemm are held or take the massively long blues from Schattberg into the circuit or the steep blacks from the same top lift back into Saalbach.

You can also ski to Leogang on gloriously long runs or even over to Fieberbrunn. For us, the trip on the link to Zell am See is pointless as not as good.

Apres is plentiful, lively, varied and good value. there is a huge choice of accommodation and eateries to suit all budgets and likes, we've tried this resort at all accommodation levels and we return year after year now.

Great sense of travel if you ski the Saalbach-Hinterglemm circuit in a day, all on reds and blues. Glorious open runs amongst trees, especially down to Leogang. Great mountain restaurant s and lots of them, Die Alte Schmiede has terrific pizzas! High quality hotels many with comprehensive wellness/spa facilities. Lots of fun places for apres-ski, especially the Hinterhag Alm. Highly recommended resort.

Great resort with loads of snow and sunshine. Slopes are very well maintained and it never felt crowded. Apres ski is also good with average prices compared to other Austrian resorts. Complete The Challenge to get a gift from the resort.

Saalbach is a great resort for all abilities, the ski area is huge and with the ski circus pass you can ski multiple areas which are all connected by lifts and runs. The terrain is typically intermediate to advanced level but the are some good beginner options. The lift systems are world class and heavily invested in. The village is amazing, very lively, great bars and restaurants. Alot of hotel options for all budgets. Saalbach truly is an amazing resort and definitely worth a visit for people who enjoy exploring larger areas and taking on more daily mileage.

Having skied in many of the well-known ski resorts of France and Switzerland, and Austria over 43 years, this is the only one that I always felt ticked every box. Extensive, varied ski area, fabulous albeit largely unknown and underrated off-piste, vibrant après-ski, pretty, friendly villages, fantastic mountain restaurants (over 60 of them), excellent ski schools, lovely forested scenery, fastest lift system in the world, heavy annual investment in new lifts and snowmaking technology. When conditions are good, there is nowhere better to ski.
