We stayed in Hinterglemm, which was pretty central to the rest of the ski area and had no trouble getting around. Buses could have been more frequent but other than that it was quiet and easy to get around. Great food and drink pretty much everywhere we went! And compares very favourably in my opinion to some of the more famous resorts.
Only trouble was, being lower and further east than most of the Alps, the snow reflected that and I was not envious of those visiting after us - it was getting warmer and cover was pretty thin. Hence not many of the ‘purple’ fun parks/trails were open at all as the (impressive) snow canons were concentrated on the main pistes. We had a brilliant week and would go back, but hope for better conditions!

Some nice slopes, very busy Saalbach side and very quiet Fieberbrunn side. Lifts were great, we were never waiting more than 5 mins

More than enough piste to ski. Loads of bars around the mountains, so plenty of apres ski. Can get busy but its worth it.

Lift quality was excellent, a lot of long lifts with heated seats great for getting up the mountain fast, also helps keep queues down. Apres ski was very good, lots of options and very lively. The people in the resort were great make for a really good vibe.

Great resort for beginners and intermediate. Very efficient lift system and massive ski area.

Good amount of restaurants on the slopes and tend to be relatively cheap.

Extensive ski area, with a huge variety of types of runs. Great lift network with very few drag/T bars, so good for snowboarders. Some off piste can be found without the need for too much walking IF the snow is good. Decent night skiing if you haven't done enough during the day!
There are a few bars at the bottom of the slopes for apres.

I’ve come back to Saalbach many times for a reason - the food! The slopes! The drinks! The whole overall vibe of the resort just seemed so friendly, taking some friends who were new skiers with me gave me a chance to learn how peaceful and beginner friendly the blue slopes were and the ski school were just fantastic!! Fantastic choice of cafes huts and restaurants dotted about - they sell the BEST pizza! Definitely will be coming back!

Saalbach Hinterglemm has a huge ski area with a fantastic selection of spots to eat and drink (both on the mountain and in the village). There were so many options available that you could always find a terrace to sit and enjoy a beer. With regards to the lift lines, we were lucky enough to get some powder days and we only really waited in one big queue at the main gondola in the morning. The lift infrastructure is slick and modern, and the ski area is so large that it soon thins the crowds out. Excellent place if you enjoy apres!

Early in the season, too early to speak to the après-ski which is supposed to be very fun when it does kick off - but even though it was quiet, the town was charming with high quality and high value options on and off the slopes. And everything was just gorgeous.

Lift system excellent and not busy. Snow good at upper levels. Grooming hit and miss. Lumpy in the afternoon. Great for families. Stayed in Fieberbrunn which is small and quiet. Mountain bars busy at peak times but good food and vibe.

Visited Saalbach for the first time, and it was incredible! It’s very different to places like Tignes. Pretty scenery, lots of trees. Very cute alpine feel and buildings. Cosy, cute! Great runs, and they did wonders with the snow machines on lower ski levels where it was pretty warm and end of season!

Overall, a decent resort. Good pistes and great accessibility between different parts of the resort.
It is located at a lower altitude so not always snow-sure in March (the afternoons come with very heavy wet snow), but can imagine that during January/February you can get some great skiing all day.

Town has everything you need within a walkable distance. Decent apres, though the resort is more family-oriented.

Large skiing area and ski runs for all levels of skiers. Great apres-ski aswell, like Bauers Schi-Alm after skiing and live music at the Off Piste Bar.
