More than enough piste to ski. Loads of bars around the mountains, so plenty of apres ski. Can get busy but its worth it.

Been to ski circus for several years, still a great location. Particularly love the ski circus challenge circuit - lots of variation, and fun to push my endurance as a skier to the limit.

I have been skiing in this resort since I could walk. Absolute gem of a village, authentic, friendly locals, vast ski resort with lots of runs and top tier lift system. The mountain top restaurants serve traditional Austrian fare in rustic settings. I still slam back a spag bol like I’m 6 for lunch! Excellent value and highly recommend it!!

Stayed in Hinterglemm which is very well connected to various ski areas within the resort via multiple lifts, which are exceptionally well maintained. Despite sub optimal weather conditions for January, some off piste was possible, with all open pistes very well managed and ice-free for the whole day. Would definitely recommend the resort, particularly for those who like to cover distance - the Ski circus challenge is a must, with a prize for completing!

Second time visiting this resort - we really like it! I need to say though not as good as others we visited on the past.
As an intermediate I believe the runs aren't very accurate on their level of difficulty, so keep an eye out!
Overall - always very fun, nice to ski there and not as crowded as other options in Europe (but I believe the reason is the price$$$).

Saalbach is a great resort (it helped as we have perfect weather). The ski area is large and well maintained. The lifts are efficient and fast, many of which are heated and there didnt seem to be any bottle-necks on the mountain. The large ski-area meant that you could go somewhere for the day and visit other areas at the extremities of the main ski area. Leogang was a highlight for us. The lift pass is valid for the neighbouring resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun (but we didnt make it that far). Like many other Austria resorts I have ski-ed the terrain is tough, this is not a beginner resort! Mostly blues and reds, but with some steep bits, which I feel in other resorts may be graded higher. Plenty of choice for Apres, whether it be a bit of "Alpensh1te" music you are after, a more civilised drink or clubbing until the small hours. It was our first time in Saalbach, but definitely wont be our last!

Massive ski area with interconnecting lifts and gondolas. If you are one for clocking up the kms you can try the Challenge ski circus by using all 32 lifts in a day, if you do there’s a prize!
Apres ski can’t get much better than the friendly atmosphere and a group sing-longs at the Hinterhag Alm and the Offpiste bar.

Amazing resort with so many different areas to explore with your lift pass, we went when it was low on snow so didn’t have much opportunity to ski off piste and in trees but was still really fun. I completed ‘the challenge’ ski route in around 6.5 hours with very little stops and it was great to see such a vast area of slopes. Get over to Leogang for a great jump area.

Extensive ski area, with a huge variety of types of runs. Great lift network with very few drag/T bars, so good for snowboarders. Some off piste can be found without the need for too much walking IF the snow is good. Decent night skiing if you haven't done enough during the day!
There are a few bars at the bottom of the slopes for apres.

I’ve come back to Saalbach many times for a reason - the food! The slopes! The drinks! The whole overall vibe of the resort just seemed so friendly, taking some friends who were new skiers with me gave me a chance to learn how peaceful and beginner friendly the blue slopes were and the ski school were just fantastic!! Fantastic choice of cafes huts and restaurants dotted about - they sell the BEST pizza! Definitely will be coming back!

Saalbach Hinterglemm has a huge ski area with a fantastic selection of spots to eat and drink (both on the mountain and in the village). There were so many options available that you could always find a terrace to sit and enjoy a beer. With regards to the lift lines, we were lucky enough to get some powder days and we only really waited in one big queue at the main gondola in the morning. The lift infrastructure is slick and modern, and the ski area is so large that it soon thins the crowds out. Excellent place if you enjoy apres!

Early in the season, too early to speak to the après-ski which is supposed to be very fun when it does kick off - but even though it was quiet, the town was charming with high quality and high value options on and off the slopes. And everything was just gorgeous.
