Mainly very good skiing. I found some of the piste signage a bit confusing. Try stay away from the circular routes, they tend to be busier.

Was much quieter when we arrived on the weekdays so it was easier to get around the slopes. The weekend was really busy which made skiing a little more challenging as a beginner and also the apres bars got so busy that we couldn’t secure a table for lunch for at least 20 minutes. Also not many vegan options to eat so that was challenging for our group. Overall though had a wonderful time and would come back here

Obertauern was some of the best skiing I’ve had on a ski trip. Well laid out accessible resort with incredibly good snow.
The apres scene was very Germanic and didn’t offer great late night options.
Food was good and there was some modern options.

Great place for my kids to learn as the ski school was great.

The learner area was quite small and the options for beginners slopes was limited to blue only.

Lift's we're very quiet most of the time which was a bonus.

Nice resort with a good array of slopes varying in difficulty. Very good condition slopes, well groomed.
Apres not as good as the likes of Saalbach though and overall didn’t get as much of a friendly vibe as we did when visiting Saalbach.

Stayed at Das Seekarhaus which has basically its own ski lifts at the back of the hotel. Expensive, but really worth it. It was their very first weekend so only a few lifts and runs were open. Runs were well groomed and the snow cannons were running constantly to keep the snow levels up. The views are spectacular and the whole place has a nice, chilled out, vibe.

Snow conditions limited ski experience but the area copes well with busy days. Appealing terrain but nothing too challenging. Not such a good choice for absolute beginners.

We went skiing from 24 Jan to 2 Feb. Only queued for one ski lift the whole holiday. The weather was incredible, and on the powder days there was lots of tree line runs and then odd piste when you hit it early !! By afternoon was crispy but then if you go up the yellow bubble the snow was perfect and untouched again and the runs were a mix of blues and reds really long runs perfect for all stages. Luzer alm amazing food an apres when you finish and Id also right next to the piste after night time skiing. Incredible resort we will be back again.

Obertauern is a beautiful overall resort - it has a wide variety of runs that are very well kept. Its one of my favourite resorts in Austria for its beauty and it has everything you could want - very nice hotels, plenty of high quality restaurants and very good après! Its good for all levels of skiers and boarders and for families too. Its one of the highest and coldest resorts in Austria so it has very good snow late into the season. Highly recommend!

A wonderful ski resort will well connected slopes, good snow reliability and almost all lifts are chairs so no taking off skis. very few crowds and queues, a bit less around in terms of non-ski activity as the town is tiny other than hotels/ski shops. great for a true first lifter, not great for non-skiers tagging along. excellent snow.

Visited towards the end of the 2023/2024 Ski season in March. It wasnt that busy and was quite warm. Large variety of runs for all skill levels. Easy to read and understand the route maps. Recommend for groups with mixed skill levels.

Brilliant resort, great variation of runs. Lifts were great and many new/improved lifts that have clearly been invested in recently. Several bars to visit for apres all with a great atmosphere. Would love to come back to this resort.
