Best Runs in Bad Gastein - Sportgastein

Bad Gastein-Sportgastein's terrain stretches across two distinct areas, and you'll find some proper varied skiing spread across both zones. The Schlossalm and Stubnerkogel sectors give you mostly intermediate cruising, whilst Sportgastein serves up the steeper stuff for those who like a proper challenge.

  • Bockhartsee (Blue): A mellow, wide cruiser that's ideal for building confidence and practising turns without the stress of steep gradients.

  • Bellevue Höhenweg (Blue): A scenic traverse that winds across the mountainside with manageable terrain, perfect for early intermediates wanting longer mileage.

  • Angertal (Red): A lengthy red that drops from Stubnerkogel to the valley, offering consistent pitch and good carving opportunities on well-groomed piste.

  • Sportgastein 2 (Red): One of the longest reds in the area, this run descends over 1,000 vertical metres with wide-open slopes and stunning glacier views.

  • Fulseck (Red): A classic red from the Hohe Scharte lift that's got a bit of everything - some steeper pitches, open sections, and usually decent snow.

  • Standard (Black): This properly steep black run off Stubnerkogel demands solid technique and confident edge control, especially when it's icy.

  • Sportgastein 1 (Black): A challenging descent through varied terrain that'll test your legs and nerve, with several steep sections and technical turns required.

  • Berger Kogel (Black): A gnarly black that pitches steeply down from the top station at Sportgastein, often featuring moguls and requiring commitment from top to bottom.
