What Skiers Say About Grandvalira: Pas de la Casa

Grandvalira: Pas de la Casa attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from first-timers to advanced riders, with many reviews coming from UK visitors seeking budget-friendly trips. The resort is consistently praised for affordability, extensive interconnected terrain across the Grandvalira area, and a lively après-ski and nightlife scene. Snow quality receives mixed feedback—reliable at higher altitude with effective snow cannons, but prone to ice and slush in warmer periods or late season. The town itself is frequently described as lacking alpine charm, with concrete architecture, though dining and shopping options are plentiful and well-priced. Wind closures on upper lifts can restrict access to the wider ski area, confining riders to lower greens. Transfer times from Barcelona (3-4 hours) are a common complaint.

We had excellent snow quality. There’s something for everyone on the slopes. My partner had a private ski lesson which was excellent.

Incredibly lucky with the snowfall. Large amount of runs available at different difficulty levels. Couple of decent parks, some marked off-piste/forest style runs. Apres and restaurant choice quite low on the mountain ranges, town also quite limited.

Pas De La Casa was a good resort for a trip with mates good bars and restaurants, good value for money. Slopes were nice and clear, snowed the majority of the time we were there, but quality of snow was good. A lot of mellow blues, but needs a few more reds and blacks. Say the blacks were probably reds in the Alps.

Not that cheap as specified. It said it was a tax free country but prices were as expensive as any other European ski area.. ski passes were just as expensive but runs were OK.

We came late January this year and had unreal conditions. Lots of snow early well made some great powder runs off piste. Pistes were well groomed too.

If you’re staying in pas de la casa though be aware high winds or bad visibility will stop the lifts to the top leaving just the few green runs near town, unless you bus to the next lifts over. Bit of a pain.

Plenty of bars and restaurants around the mountain, would recommend a day riding out to the other side of the hill, down the soldeu runs, restaurants at the bottom are insane value for money. €4 euro beers, cheap food. Just be aware the ski runs can get flat for boarders.

Apres is alright, the bar at the top of font Negre lift gets busy from 3 and isn’t very big, would recommend hitting that then moving down to cbbc at like 4:30 before everyone starts heading the same way, get a table and beers in!

Pas de la casa is incredible, there is so much options and variety for up to beginner to expert skiers. The resort has endless amount of runs from green to black, I have been going there since maybe 4, when I first started skiing and I still don’t think I’ve skied every run, the area is huge. Personally, I love the run Port, and to go over the other side of the mountain in Grandvarlia into Grau Roig. Everything is amazing there, the lessons are brilliant and you learn a lot from them, there is lots of options for aprés ski and eating out, some accommodation is located on the side of the mountain so you can ski down from your hotel to the lifts, and the lifts are rarely busy, unless you go in half terms, where you get the school kids there,

I believe there is not really any downsides to this resort (however I might be bias because I love it so much)
I think if anyone has the chance to go they should go here

Fantastic slopes with ski in and out hotels, bars, restaurants all over the mountain. Great range of shops in the town.
Slopes have a good range with everywhere easily accessible.
Apres you can't get a chairlift down so must be comfortable skiing/boarding down afterwards.

The apartments I stayed at were had the option to ski up to the block from the slopes which was useful, however, does mean that it was at the top of the resort so unless you have a car it made it difficult to get your bags up to the apartments. There is a nice variety of runs but they can get quite busy, on my first day there the slopes were quite icy but the it snowed for the rest of the time I was there which may the slope much nicer to ski on. Lots of different restaurants around the resort with good food, didn’t have any bad meals whilst there. The apres ski seems a bit quiet, there’s lots of locations but not many people seemed to be there.

Wonderful experience, weather was a bit too snowy on the first day so most of the mountains were closed due to avalanche risk but the following day was gorgeous. Plenty of runs, quick lifts, and uncrowded slopes when everything is open. Lots of on mountain quick food options as well as nicer off mountain food options. Plenty of après ski options with bars of all types.
