Camp Fortune Review Summary

Camp Fortune is a small local hill located 15-20 minutes from downtown Ottawa, primarily serving families and learners alongside intermediate and advanced riders. Users consistently mention well-groomed runs, short lift queues, friendly staff, and a solid terrain park with progressive features. The resort offers night skiing and has recently expanded its lodge facilities. Common criticisms include short runs, slow fixed-grip lifts, icy conditions typical of eastern skiing, high food prices, and limited challenging terrain for expert skiers. Reviewers note it gets busy on weekends due to its proximity to Ottawa, though weekday and evening sessions are quieter.

Location is very near Ottawa (20 min drive from downtown) and Chelsea (great for Apres). Its a small hill but skyline and Meech lifts provide challenging albeit shorter runs.

I grew up coming to this ski hill. My family and I went every other weekend. This hill really means a lot to me, it's where I was able to learn to ski and spend quality time with my family. My cousin's were both great skiiers, one being an instructor and the other starting in freestyle and making his way up to coaching. Everyone at the hill was always kind and helpful. We got to know the staff becuase we were there so much so it felt like a really comfortable community for us. I remember always going into the lodge for lunch and being able to leave our ski bags and cooler under the bench while we skiied. There was absolutely no turst issues with leaving it there. We would meet up with friends at lunch, while we warmed up and caught up from the last week of life. I loved the feeling of being able to cross over to the other side of the hill to the T bar with my friends and my family wasn't worried about us. We would go there to go through the forest trials and skii by ourselves and felt safe doing so. Lots of core memories for me have been at this hill and I am so grateful for that. As I grow and have. Built my own family this is something I wabt to continue in their lives as well. I will never forget my time at Camp Fortune, it is the best!

Camp Fortune is nice and close to Ottawa. In comparison to hills in the area it is standard. It is well run, but of course due to weather conditions, you'll often find icy patches. It was a decent selection of different runs to choose from so you don't get bored throughout the day. The lodge is nice and big and has a good cafeteria.

It was my first time snowboarding, so I hired a private instructor and he was so helpful and nice! I learned a lot that day, and have been coming back ever since, The runs are nicely kept and the chalet atmosphere is quite nice. I wish there were more food options, but overall a great place to snowboard!

Good ski hill for beginners or good park riders trying to hit rail. Or people who want to run steep blacks. But nothing you would see like in the swiss alps or west coast

I started out skiing here and ive gotten to the point where i can go anywhere on the mountain through trees and black diamond runs this is a pretty good mountain even when it doesnt have alot of snowfall the trees are pretty good as there r many routes u can take and also a main route unfortunately they are closed for the night which is when i normally ski due to no lights however they r still pretty bright and the snow is well maintained i transitioned to snowboarding last year and now able to do black diamond runs but broke once i started to do park runs the park is pretty decent and beginner friendly especially when there isnt a lot of snow there r box jumps and rails you can grind on but once enough snow does fall they make massive jumps which i had tried to do last year but unfortunately broke when i landed overall the mountain is pretty good it has good beginner runs and then a more advanced around the mountain to make sure that no rookie or pro collieds with each other i would definitely rate this mountain and ski resort a solid 7 out of 10 would definitely go with friends who know how to snowboard or ski and also beginners

Definitely a good but smaller hill to learn at, very family friendly and the teaching is great, but you grow out of the runs quickly before needing harder, longer runs

Throughout my time here, I thoroughly enjoyed my ski experience. The hills weren't crowded and the snow was well groomed. I would 100% come again. The only thing i found to be a bit much were the prices, although the value was great for cost.

Camp fortune is a really fun, but smaller, resort. Its really close to Ottawa, and its one of the biggest ski hills in terms of terrain in the Ottawa area. There is variety in the terrain and the lifts service 3 different peaks, so you can ski in the least busy area.
