Camp Fortune Review Summary

Camp Fortune is a small local hill located 15-20 minutes from downtown Ottawa, primarily serving families and learners alongside intermediate and advanced riders. Users consistently mention well-groomed runs, short lift queues, friendly staff, and a solid terrain park with progressive features. The resort offers night skiing and has recently expanded its lodge facilities. Common criticisms include short runs, slow fixed-grip lifts, icy conditions typical of eastern skiing, high food prices, and limited challenging terrain for expert skiers. Reviewers note it gets busy on weekends due to its proximity to Ottawa, though weekday and evening sessions are quieter.

Great spot for beginners, while also having some harder runs for more advanced skiers. Not too crowded and super easy to navigate.

Love this place, especially for a quick run after a day of work. The evening riding and apres ski is great! Close to the city, easy to get to with great runs!

Camp fortune is a great ski resort for the Ottawa valley area, has great runs and is cheap in comparison to other bigger resorts for a season pass.

I personally enjoy going to Camp fortune after work using the evening season pass and it always hits, the machines come out frequently to groom the runs so it’s not a problem to come in later in the day after it’s been open.
The price of food is reasonable for a ski resort.

The parking at the camp is wide and spacious allowing for both spontaneous and planned trips, but as I mentioned earlier, due it’s close proximity, it’s easy to just go without having to heavily plan. Their light system is great, all the major groomed runs have lights so you’re not skiing in the dark.

With the pricing and ease of access, camp fortune is great for after work skiing.

Lovely family friendly micro resort - perfect for young children starting out and local to Ottawa. Small hills but a couple short sharp runs keep you active.

Only 15 min away from downtown Ottawa, great small ski resort for the area, with varying run difficulties. Can be quite icy at times, but that’s not unusual skiing on the East coast

Overall good resort with varied terrain from beginner to expert. Close to Ottawa only 15 minutes and night skiing is a bonus. Probably best ski hill less than 1 hour from Ottawa

Camp Fortune is a small resort, but always super friendly and welcoming. The slopes are well maintained, the lines for the lifts are super short.

You get what you pay for - it's super affordable but, you ski on a big hill and have short lifts with short slopes. Always a lot of fun though! Staff is nice, a lot of schools go there so the restaurant area sometimes gets crowded, and the bar isn't always open but you always have food and affordable drinks and snacks.

We go there twice a week on average, and love it everytime!

Camp fortune is overall a great place for riders or many levels, for me as an intermediate i found that the runs were nice for learning and improving my abilities. The food there however is expensive and not all too well.

Im a local skier at camp fortune and Im also a camp fortune instructor. I mainly do park and free ride. Our park is great, this year our park builder decided to make the park more progressive so it makes it easier for new park skiers to learn how to grind rails or hit jumps. This year we got money to invest in our park and we are getting new advanced features such as a dfdfd ( quad kink ). As for our free riding, you cant judge a book by its cover, camp fortune wont really show you pistes where you can free ride. Youre gonna have to explore the resort yourself or ask a local for freeride trails. Our freeride trails are really fun with lots of versatile features such as cliffs and jumps. As for our food, we have the cafeteria which has really good food and its less expensive than at Mont tremblant and this year we opened a restaurant in the main lodge which serves delicious food, a little bit on the pricy side but comparing to the other restaurants its fair. We also started having après skis each Friday this year and everyone is invited. If youre anywhere near Gatineau or Ottawa you should definitely check out camp fortune.

Fortune is a great resort with many options for all skiers, the blue and black only side, skyline, is separate from the park and green/blue side, making it easier to ski as a beginner, as well as an intermediate to experienced skier. The lodge is good, the runs are great and there are plenty of off piste trails

Camp Fortune is a great place for families and for all levels of expertise once the whole resort is ready, therefore depends on collaboration of mother nature. Nevertheless this is a very good resort close to the city for warming up your season or hitting their runs for practice before getting to higher mountains. Nice variety of runs and trafic is spread around therefore limiting the bottle necks line ups to a minimum. It offers night skiing almost as generous as their day skiing in matter of runs. Good place for regular outings. Try it, this a very good Canadian intermediate size resort.

I went to Camp Fortune on a Thursday night. There was almost no lines at the chairlifts, the lifts were kind of quick and the slopes were perfect. Did a couple runs on the magic carpet.

A good, accessible and diverse little hill just 20 minutes from Ottawa. Lots of varied terrain for a smaller hill. Gets quite busy during peak times but often no lift lines.

super cute small east coast resort. It has about five lifts and runs for every level of expertise with night skiing until 9pm. the runs are quite short but the lift lines are never long and ive rarely ever had to wait.
