What Skiers Say About Apex Mountain

Apex Mountain is a small resort near Penticton that attracts mainly intermediate to expert skiers and snowboarders. Reviewers consistently mention minimal lift queues, steep terrain with challenging runs, and high-quality light powder snow. The resort has only two main chairlifts and a compact village with limited dining and accommodation options. Many users describe it as quiet and local-focused, with friendly staff and a relaxed community atmosphere. Several reviews note the triple chairlift is slow, and a few mention the mountain is not ideal for beginners due to the prevalence of steep terrain.

Amazing tree riding with banger snow. Almost no lift lines and a great vibe. It's a smaller resort so 1 lift gets you to the summit. Super steep tree lines and very little traffic. I ski'd into my own lines 7 days earlier. If your knees can handle it you can do more quality laps here than almost anywhere.

Quiet little resort with essentially only one lift for experts. The main lift to the top offers varied terrain with steeps, groomers, massive bumps and powder stashes that seem to last awhile after a dump.
Low key place where the vibe is about skiing! The Edge coffee shop has amazing lunches and a ski thru outdoor ordering window so you can chug a coffee on the lift! The Gunbarrel Saloon is a great apres bar with good food and a decent selection of cold beer! (And other drinks)
Mid week there is a very distinct lack of people and the only lineups you will encounter is the odd Saturday morning or a busy holiday. Even then it's less than 4 minutes tops but it's very rare!
Great learning area with a magic carpet and a fixed grip triple with awesome intermediate terrain and a safe place to explore for all levels.

Apex has some of the most insane terrain Ive seen at what is considered a smaller ski area. I found an solid blend of open groomers and very steep, technically challenging terrain. I have been twice and both times there have been minimal liftlines. Staff are very friendly. We met a few locals who are very proud of their mountain, and were glad to share and recommend some runs. Theres not much shop-wise in the village but there are a few cute places for food/drinks, and on-hill accommodations for reasonable prices.

This resort makes you feel like family. Line ups are short and lifties are always smiling. Plenty of places to rent at the resort or hotels only 30 min away. Mountain shop has excellent service and a great range of demo equipment. The ski patrol is also amazing at what they do! Womens day and Adopt an instructor are both excellent options to elevate the fun of being on the hills for the young and not so young. Actually forget everything I saidits awful

Really cute hill and a good vibe. Only been a few times and one in the spring and can say during spring riding it is only ok. Only a few good groomed runs that get old pretty quickly. But on a fresh powder day all the off piste runs are incredible. A lot of steep runs and chutes to choose from. Will return on a pow day

Apex is a resort that not many people know. However this does not take away from its brilliance. With steep terrain and knarly features Apex really sets the tone of local resorts. She is a beast for double black gun runs that are scary just to look down, and the groomers off the triple chair are just magnificent. Apex, although few people know the name, is a brilliant all round resort with challenging and including riding that will blow your socks off!

The biggest complaint is no public accommodations. Its all owned and Air Bnb for outrageous prices.

I have skied here and called this mountain home for almost 12 years now. It is a fantastic hill with a great atmosphere and community. There are several delicious food options available with affordable prices. There are also other fun winter activities like skating and tubing to do. The terrain that the hill has to offer is definitely more on the advanced side, but there are plenty runs that are good for learning on to. I myself have been an athlete of and have coached for the freestyle team which is a great program here at the mountain. There are also well run racing and ski school programs offered. This hill is most certainly a buck-list hill that must be visited. The staff are all friendly from the lifties to the mountain shop to the ski patrol.

I grew up skiing Apex and it awesome for its steep and mogul terrain along with a handful of groomers. Its got two separate chairs leading to different levels of terrain. Theres more beginner/intermediate train on one chair and intermediate/advanced off the other, and it also has a t bar and magic carpet for beginner terrain including a kids park.

The Gunbarrel saloon is the place to be for après ski with live music on many weekends, a dance floor and a beautiful patio
