Where I would say I really cut my teeth as a snowboarder! I LOVE Stevens Pass, so much so my friends make fun of me for it. Is it the biggest mountain? No. Does it have the best of any one category? No not really. But for a resort of its size and scope it really has much more than you could ever expect! Some seriously good terrain and very well managed! A lot of very talented snowboarders come out of Stevens pass for a reason. The terrain and the culture at Stevens pass really push you to progress and have fun while doing it. It makes me sad I never hit Alpental because as far as I can tell its the same group of people and they all rave about Alpental! But Ive gotta say, the best skiing and snowboarding Ive seen in person has been in the PNW and mostly at Stevens Pass. If youre comfortable going off trail then Stevens pass will be heaven for you! I have nothing but love for that mountain! In terms of visiting, I always drove in from Seattle and either day tripped or car camped. If youre coming from further afield the best way to go is to stay in Leavenworth. Ive never actually been there myself but from what I hear thats the place to stay and hang out. Unless you have an RV and stay in the RV lot! Lots of good people in the RV lot!

Stevens is the quintessential local resort, the vibes are great with a nice mix of groomers and moguls. The tree runs are amazing and this year the snow has been great.

Stevens Pass is awesome! Groomers are good, variety of terrain means theres something for everyone, side and backcountry runs are accessible but hidden enough to keep Seattlites out. Lodging is nonexistent, you have to stay either in Skykomish or Leavenworth, both roughly 45 minutes west and east respectively. Food is food, pricey for what it is. Beer is gonna run you a tenner, which is unfortunate. Its more worthwhile to snag a four pack of tall boys for $8 on your way up and drink it on the chairlift. Runs arent short, lifts are fast enough, and the lines arent terrible once the backside has opened up. Weekends get crowded and tracked out quick. Easy to get 20+ runs in a day, especially after they open up for night skiing.
