Incredible terrain, and huge off piste options. Family run and it shows. Legendary big mountain riding with no pretense.

Black canyon and off piste- this is the happy place. Terrain is unbelievable, staff is great, and youll be challenged for sure. One of the best gems in the country, and still family owned and operated.

This mountain is home to some of the best snowboarders in the world. As a skier, its tough to admit, but their skill level sets a standard for truly exceptional riding. Family-owned and operated, this mountain has no high-speed lifts or gondolasand it doesnt need them. The quality of the riding here easily outshines anything youll find elsewhere, tenfold. Its a bucket-list destination, and on a powder day, the experience is beyond anything you can imagine. Get ready for the adventure of a lifetime.

I personally love the remote feel (national Forest) and the lack of big resort commotion/no big village full of vendors and stores. There is a pretty laid back local vibe and lift lines are never as bad as some of the bigger resorts, even on a peak powder day. It's been revered as a "snowboarders' mountain" for it's interesting side hit terrain and fun open areas when the snow is good, but not maybe best for beginners cuz there are a lot of flat traverses that also get a little icy. Bring your avie gear to leave the rope line into the side/back country! They will be checking you for safety. I also really appreciate the initiative they are taking to become green and hopefully off the grid in the future using a lot of hydropower! Cool place. Glacier, the tiny town you hit before, also has great little places to eat and a rental shop.

Baker has some amazing terrain, lifts are slow and old, but there is very rarely a queue. We live between baker and whistler and go to baker more often as you get so much more skiing in in a day. Friendly fun vibe. Not vail! Day tickets or season tickets only I believe. Very limited for options 1 (maybe 2) chalets, but they serve actually good food (not whistler trash).

Gets a ton of snow, but conditions can be variable as with other PNW resorts. Has some of the most extreme terrain of any resort and the side county is really good. Has some really good tree areas, and has a very local feel, with old lifts and cheap (comparatively) lift tickets. The only downside is it can be flat in places, but thats usually right after some cliffs or really steep runs and so you should have speed.

Mt.Baker is an amazing mountain when its got lots of snow. The problem with this mountian is its got short runs and a lot of people frequently go here so the mey is to go on the weekends and aim for the days when they are getting snow.

I have been to Baker exactly once. It is a magical soggy place where you get to travel through a straight up rainforest until you reach the snow level. It's quiet and will put a HUGE SMILE on your face.

This resort normally has great snow and friendly staff. The scenery is off the charts. Make sure to check the forecast as it rains quite a bit, but on that occasion the lodges are great places to rest and get good food.
