What Skiers Say About Deer Valley Resort

Deer Valley is a skiers-only resort that attracts beginners through to experts, with a strong emphasis on service and grooming. The majority of users mention exceptionally well-groomed runs, friendly and helpful staff, and upscale amenities including quality food options and services like complimentary boot warmers and ski storage. Reviewers consistently note high prices for lift tickets, food, and accommodation. The resort limits ticket sales to reduce crowding, though some users still report busy slopes and lift lines, particularly on beginner terrain. Advanced and expert skiers appreciate the tree skiing and off-piste options when snow conditions allow, though several mention lower natural snowfall compared to other Utah resorts.

Deer valley resort is a very nice ski area! No snowboarding, only skiing. They have tissues for everyone at all ski lifts. The lodges are clean and are pretty fancy. If you have the Ikon pass, you get 7 days here. If you were to go off the ikon pass, it is a little pricy. They food isn't as expensive as you'd think. The runs are nice and wide. If you know where to go, you can find endless powder just for you and your friends

I have skied Jackson Hole, Alta, Mammoth, Aspen, and many more throughout the western US.

Deer Valley is at or very near the top. It has terrain for literally every skill level. Want to hike to a higher more challenging peak? They have that. Want to rip wide open groomers? They have that. Trees, moguls, steeps, it is all there.

They even have a time trial set up to see how fast you can ski and to add onto this the Elk Chili at the lodge is fantastic.

My only critique would be having more options for a cheaper stay in Park City nearby. This isnt too big of a hurdle though because Salt Lake City is a short 45mins away.

Fabulous groomed pistes. Everything works like clockwork - which it should when you're skiing with Gwyneth Paltrow and the Kardashians. Fabulous alpine style restaurants on the slopes. Best loos ever in the Stein Erikcsen Lodge and great for celeb spotting.
Some interesting slopes off towards the border with Park City. Otherwise stylish cruising pistes to show off your Armani ski gear.
It's on the IKON pass.

Deer Valley is a fantastic ski resort for all skiers but I particularly like it for its advanced terrain. While there is more advanced terrain at nearby Utah resorts, Deer Valleys doesnt get tracked out as quickly, making it a great resort to learn to freeride. Food is fantastic (try the chili!). And customer service is above and beyond. For instance, complimentary shuttles, boot/glove dryers in the lodges, mountain hosts to help with directions, etc.

Deer Valley is an all-around curated experience. The staff is so welcoming and efficient! There is sooo much mountain to explore and something for every type/level of skier. Deer Valleys grooming game is top shelf! Best corduroy Ive ever skied. Skis only, so even the mogul runs feel like they were groomed just for you!

I call this the Ego mountain for intermediate skiers. Groomed long runs. Fast chairlifts. Very good lodges with good food. This is pampered skiing. However when the good powder gets deep all the Bogner people head to the lodges and leave the good stuff to the serious advanced skiers.

Expensive, crowded, long lift lines., the positive there are no boarders to hit you.
Even when the parking lots are full, they still ask you to park at a remote location and shuttle in.

At $299 for a day ticket you should go for a full ikon pass at$1200 bought in March. Prices go up and they stop selling the ikon in November. Great lodges, friendly staff, boot warmers, warm fireplaces, clean toilets, great runs and lots of terrain. Free to leave skis overnight. Free parking, first come first served. Get there early on the weekend or after 12. You can park in town and take the free bus. One of my favorite resorts in Utah. Free trial of Rossignol skis from the yurt but you have to ski in and leave a credit card. One of the best up market resorts.

Deer valley is a ski only resort that has the second largest skiable terrain. Their customer service and staff are awesome and helpful. Whether you're a beginner or expert there is a ton of terrain to ride through. I personally love sultan Express and mayflower areas. They are less riden and more challenging. The east facing mountains usually contains bad wind and produces a sheltered skiing area.
Its a bit pricer than most resorts but they have a lot to offer.

Amazing family experience on a ski only mountain. Great food with nice instructors made it a go-to place for my family growing up. Lots of different slopes there, although they are mostly on-piste and on the easier side. If youre looking to take your family on a ski vacation, this has got to be a top 3 in the USA.
