What Skiers Say About Big Sky

Big Sky attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers drawn to its extensive terrain spread across over 5,000 acres and 300+ runs. Users consistently highlight the modern lift infrastructure, including heated bubble chairs and high-speed lifts, alongside minimal wait times outside peak periods. Snow quality and varied terrain receive frequent praise, though several reviewers note rocky conditions early season and mention the mountain works best later in winter. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high lift ticket costs, additional tram fees, and pricey on-mountain food. Reviewers frequently mention limited après-ski and dining options both on-mountain and in the village. Intermediate and beginner skiers find adequate terrain but advanced riders emphasise the resort's strength lies in expert runs, trees, and steeps.

Wow. The amount of terrain is amazing. The groomers are wide and long. A lot of area can be covered here. This strikes me as a great resort for a bigger family or friend group where their may be riders of different levels, in that there is something for everyone. And the lifts are giant!

Ive been skiing at big sky for over 15 years.
It has grown over the years and crowds have surged. I still really enjoy the backcountry terrain and tree runs on powder days. I wish there were more on-mountain food and drink options. It still feels like a college town ski experience which is cool

Skiing big sky is awesome, and a resort you dont want to miss. with that said, its very easy to catch it on a bad day and wait in hour long lift lines. although its crazy busy, you can usually still find fresh powder tucked in tree runs a few days after new snow.

Big Sky really is big! It has so many different areas to explore that it could take years to see all of the little secret spots. The terrain park is killer and Swifty and ram charger are so fast warm and high tech.
