What Skiers Say About Big Sky

Big Sky attracts predominantly advanced and expert skiers drawn to its extensive terrain spread across over 5,000 acres and 300+ runs. Users consistently highlight the modern lift infrastructure, including heated bubble chairs and high-speed lifts, alongside minimal wait times outside peak periods. Snow quality and varied terrain receive frequent praise, though several reviewers note rocky conditions early season and mention the mountain works best later in winter. The resort is repeatedly described as expensive, with high lift ticket costs, additional tram fees, and pricey on-mountain food. Reviewers frequently mention limited après-ski and dining options both on-mountain and in the village. Intermediate and beginner skiers find adequate terrain but advanced riders emphasise the resort's strength lies in expert runs, trees, and steeps.

Big Sky is a phenomenon resort in most ways, lots of runs on verying difficulty and terrain, ok parks, and good accommodations. They are much more aimed at out of state skiers and neglect locals. Their pricing is out of control.

Its Big Sky youre going to spend a lot of money. The slopes are worth it when the full mountains open and the crowding isnt too bad. Pack a lunch and get so drinks from the gas station and itll be a great time.

Very good resort for beginner and advanced skiers to experts, possibly lacking for those in between. Expensive, but very big and varied terrain. Lots of rocks though. Lifts are extremely fast and comfortable but break down a lot. Like a lot a lot. Tram offers triple blacks which are a blast but it is now on a pay per ride basis, further adding to the expense.

3/10. Way too expensive for what they have to offer. Extremely crowded. Most of the mountain encompasses rich people who think they are all high and mighty. Rude visitors. Employees could care less if the chairs run you over or not, wont slow down for anything. And you have to pay an absurd amount on top of the day pass to access the tram to the top. Much better mountains in Montana to ski/ride: Whitefish and Bridger to name a few.

This is overall suck a good resort! The staff are always nice and welcoming and the community is out of the world. The lifts are so fast and get you to some of the best runs in the country. I could not recommend this place more!

One of my favorite resorts to ski. Getting there is more of a trek than the top few in Colorado where we normally go, but its worth it for sure. The times I went the crowds were much smaller than in Colorado too. Cute little resort town with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Plenty of places to stay near the slopes too

Big Sky ski resort is a massive resort that has something for everyone. Some of the craziest steep terrain, hidden pockets of powder and very friendly beginner terrain. The ski school is very well organized with lots of great instructors. The Mountain Village and town of Big Sky has everything you could need for a great vacation.

Big sky has some of the best expert and advanced terrain in the country. It also has some good beginner and intermediate terrain but the harder runs are where it really stands out.

Big Sky Resort has given me opportunities like no other. From the diverse terrain, to the great customer service! There are over 300 runs from green to triple black, and it is a great place for any level of skier/snowboarder. There isnt just skiing, they also have fun outdoor activities like the enchanted forest that give you experiences of a life time. The employees at the resort are very experienced in what they do and any questions you have can be answered.

Taking all of this into account Big Sky Resort is one of the best! Best runs, best atmosphere, best views!

Big sky offers great terrain for a variety of skiers. However, the sticker price for a day pass is just not worth it for those who arent experienced enough to explore the upper terrain. That being said if you can reasonably afford to ski here it is amazing skiing with some of the best terrain of any Montana ski area.
