Sun valley is for high level skiers. Not many easy runs. Lots of firm days here. Powder days a spectacular when they happen. Apres is best at the resort. Full bar and pretty reasonable prices.

Sun Valley has the best groomers in Idaho! Although it doesnt get as much snow as other reports out west, it hold a special place in my heart. The apre scene, food, and charming town make up for the lack of powder. I always leave Sun Valley with an epic goggle tan and good memories.

I can confidently say in all my years of skiing, sun Valley is the biggest bang for your buck in the western USA. some of the smallest year round lift lines with some really awesome bowls and side country hits, there's only a few things I'd change. Sun valley gets a decent amount of snow on average, but if we don't get it naturally, by god we'll make it. Best snowmaking in the country. If I could give it 4.75 stars I would, but I just can't give it 5. Just some managerial things but nothing that would keep me from coming back. Best skiing in the area is... actually, I won't tell you that. Come find the deep stuff for yourself. But it's close!

The groomed runs are some of the best you will find. Some of the top Ski racers in the world come from this mountain. The bowls are great on a powder day but without good snowfall the off piste skiing is mediocre. The tree skiing is excellent if you know were to go and if you manage to find some of the good tree runs, you can lap untouched powder for days as the average age at the mountain means most skier stay on groomers. The food is great and everyone who works there is very friendly.

For being a little expensive its a good hill. Allot of terrain and much fun to have. Ive been quite a few times and always find something cool to ride. Has a very beautiful town outside with much to do. Very fun and would recommend for a fun getaway. Although very far from all civilization. Makes the hill more quite.

I absolutely LOVE Sun Valley! One of the best ski resorts I have ever been to! That being said, this is no beginner mountain. The terrain is steep and can become slick really quick. Their greens feel more like blues, their blues feel more like blacks, but their blacks truly feel like hard blacks. The ONE problem I have with the resort is the pricing. Oh my goodness, a single day is $200! While I do think that it CAN be worth it if you are skiing non-stop, if you are any sort of beginner or beginner-intermediate I would hesitate to spend that much on a day pass here. If youre able to ski 20+ miles a day, I truly believe that this resort is worth the money. Again, I think it all comes down to your skill level and whether or not youre willing to shell out that cash. For me, Im more than willing to do so!
