What Skiers Say About Bogus Basin

Bogus Basin is a non-profit local resort serving the Boise area, located roughly 16-20 miles from the city with a 45-minute drive up the mountain. Reviewers consistently note it as family-friendly and beginner-oriented, with terrain suitable for all levels spread across a significant skiable area. The most common criticisms focus on inconsistent snow conditions due to its southern location and lower elevation, with many noting the reliance on snowmaking and hard-packed or icy conditions. Advanced riders and snowboarders frequently mention that the terrain parks are limited or poorly maintained, though backcountry and tree skiing options receive positive feedback. Weekend crowds and limited parking are noted issues, while weekday skiing and night skiing are praised for shorter lift lines and good value.

Bogus Basin is an amazingly family-friendly mountain that feels way more local than one would guess from its mountain statistics. With a total acreage that is competitive with nearly any resort in North America, there is no shortage of terrain for every member of the family. This isnt the mountain to go to if you are chasing big-mountain steep lines, but it really makes up for it by providing such a diverse selection for beginner-advanced riders that want to view the mountain as a playground. Overall, I have never had a bad time at this mountain, and I dont think you will either!

The resort is flat but open for a little of everything, many different terrains and difficulty levels for all types of skiers and snowboarders. Additionally, night skiing is available for the front half of the mountains. Lastly, although the snow conditions are lacking in the mountain, the seasons length makes up for much of it and little to no wait for any express on the mountain.

Great resort, definitely a bang for your buck. Awesome terrain and lots of fun with good snow. Very family and beginner friendly, also appeals to advanced riders. 4 main chairs offer lots of terrain. Later in the season multiple parks across the mountain are built.

I love this ski resort from the bottom of my heart. Everyone is so friendly there and i have been going there since I was a little kid. There are alot of different runs for different skill levels. One thing that needs work though is the park its very small and not alot of rails, boxes, and other things. Overall I love this place with all of the different kinda of runs and all the jumps and friendliness of the resort. I can build jumps with my friends without some employees yelling at us. Everyone is so positive and chill. I think anyone could be a tourist here and they would be welcomed in with smiles.
