What Skiers Say About Bogus Basin

Bogus Basin is a non-profit local resort serving the Boise area, located roughly 16-20 miles from the city with a 45-minute drive up the mountain. Reviewers consistently note it as family-friendly and beginner-oriented, with terrain suitable for all levels spread across a significant skiable area. The most common criticisms focus on inconsistent snow conditions due to its southern location and lower elevation, with many noting the reliance on snowmaking and hard-packed or icy conditions. Advanced riders and snowboarders frequently mention that the terrain parks are limited or poorly maintained, though backcountry and tree skiing options receive positive feedback. Weekend crowds and limited parking are noted issues, while weekday skiing and night skiing are praised for shorter lift lines and good value.

This ski resort is great for beginners. With a family friendly focus and a great bunny hill to learn on. They even have a tubing hill for those that dont ski/snowboard. If you want family friendly fun this is the place. However this resort has to artificially create most of there snow causing runs to become super hard packed and almost like ice. While you can still find spots of powder they are far and few between. Bogus basin is great for beginners to try the sport out due to their cheap pricing but more advanced riders will find better snow and terrain elsewhere.

The non profit style management makes this resort ultra cosy friendly and an amazing place to snowboard. Very local and friendly crowd and the ski patrol is lax compared to other mountains making it a very fun fuck around and find out area if you are into sketchy terrain. Pow doesn't show too much but when it does there are some nice uncharted areas. Food isn't great and very expensive but otherwise just fine. But overall lovely place and always a blast.

Bogus basin is a really family friendly ski resort that occupied most of the people from Boise and meridian, plus some other towns. Can get really crowded on the weekends, but it isnt really that crowded if you go to the backside. There isn't much of a terrain park, but the one they have is pretty good. A good variety of runs and two new ski for the 2024- 2025 season.

Bogus is a quaint resort, runs are short and without much vert. In recent years a lot of emphasis has been placed on terrain parks and they are constructing two new chairlifts to open up the mountain, they should be open this year but I cant comment on that.
Overall its a fun mountain, the food is bad, it only sees powder 2-3 times a year and its becoming crowded but Im never sorry Ive gone.

Bogus Basin is a great beginner mountain. With 2 sides the front has the easier runs and is much more crowded while the back is much wider and more spread out. It's a great time with great beer with western collective having the lodge. Highly recommend

Bogus Basin is a non profit resort, which means that they put a lot of money back into the resort. This is a great place to learn how to ski, or for something to do while in Boise. The night skiing is also really fun. I will say it lacks in crazy terrain compared to other resorts, but you can find some good cliff drops on the backside. The backside also has a ton of tree skiing if you like that. The Frontside has basic blue runs that are fun for everyone, and most of all an awesome park. Bogus puts a lot of rails up and a couple of small jumps as well. Overall it's a really fun mountain to rip. I suggest going night skiing which is only around $20.

Overall it is a great resort. There is pretty good terrain, and a huge potential for more. A lot of terrain is not rideable due to dense bush growth. Snow quality verys as does any resort. There is a lot of accessibility to side and back country runs. There is a wide range of named runs, pretty spread out from greens to double black. Generally not to busy, but there is a lot of growth in the area and it is becoming more busy.

Love Bogus. A sleeper resort a windy way up from Boise. It has kept its old school charm but boasts everything you might want for all levels. Ski school and racing alliance are great!

The terrain parks are absolute garbage but the passes are very affordable and the mountain is easy to get to. Only 16 miles away from Boise. Cliff terrain is fun but you have to know where to go. Pine creek is my favorite lift and has a lot of skiable terrain on it. Mountain skis exceptionally well with a 50+ inch base. Snowmaking is making a difference in dry years.

This place has been pretty fun except for when you look at the terrain parks and their crew it is an absolute joke. However backcountry is very nice and this is a fun place to go with my boys. Food overpriced

Bogus Basin is a decent sized resort 45 minutes from Boise with an average of 200-250 inches a year. They have a friendly atmosphere with 6 true chairlifts and various magic carpet rides throughout the front side. The peak elevation is 7,582 while the base is 5790 with 2600 skiable acres at a moderate steepness. The park is mediocre with many un-trickable features and most areas coming up in late February if that early. The resort gets the attention of most of Boise but still often doesnt have long lift lines.
