June Mountain Ski Area in California, often referred to as Mammoth's "little sister," offers a laid-back and family-friendly skiing experience. The resort is known for its stunning views of the Sierra Nevada and less crowded slopes. June Mountain caters primarily to beginner and intermediate skiers, but it also offers challenging terrain for advanced skiers. The resort is particularly popular among families, with children under 12 skiing for free. June's on-site facilities include a cozy lodge with dining options. The resort's smaller size and relaxed atmosphere make it a great choice for a peaceful ski day away from the larger crowds. June Mountain is perfect for those seeking a serene and scenic skiing experience.

Amazing resort, and super quiet on the weekends. Great to get away from mammoth and the crowds and lift lines.
Beautiful open wide runs, good range of terrain.
And the chalet at the base of the hill has the most stunning view!
reminded me of the alps in eEurope.
Also lovely beginner area, great for kids.

June is an old school mountain with no crowds or lines and no on mountain accommodations. There are 2 high speed quads, but the other lifts are very old and very slow. One day is more than enough time to experience all of the trails and lap the trails you like best! On a powder day, it would be amazing! This is a good option to take a day and experience something low key, as opposed to nearby Mammoth. Great for families too as it has something for everyone, but no one is getting lost here.

June is off the main track from Mammoth Mtn. Mid-week during or right after a cold storm will yield powder for a few days.
