If you're in Pragelato, you're likely in the club med, which is a great spot for a group trip if your party is of different skill levels or a family trip as they will take away all of the fuss. The ski area is nestled right on the corner of sauze d'oux / sestriere and has some lovely blues and reds down into each valley opening up over 100km of great conditions and beautiful scenery. My personal preference for European skiing is Italy, you get the conditions of France, the hospitality of Italy at a reasonable cost. Would recommend this resort. The apres here isn't the best, but it's possible to go to sestriere and enjoy their bars a short bus ride away.
