What Skiers Say About Livigno
Livigno attracts a broad mix of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to advanced riders, with families particularly well represented. The resort's duty-free status and high altitude are mentioned consistently, resulting in cheaper food, drink, and shopping alongside reliable snow cover from November to May. Reviewers frequently highlight wide, well-groomed pistes on both sides of the valley, minimal lift queues, excellent ski schools for children, and good value compared to France, Switzerland, and Austria. The main recurring drawback is the long transfer time from airports like Milan Bergamo or Innsbruck, typically three to four hours. A few advanced skiers note the limited quantity of challenging black runs, and some mention that the ski area, while adequate for a week, can feel small for those seeking extensive mileage.

I found the skiing conditions excellent for my level of skiing
I did find it rather pricey
But over all well worth every penny
Although runs are pretty challenging up the mountains being mostly reds and tough.
Family friendly. Great food reasonable prices.
Would prob recommend a car as the bus system is a bit slow and long winded on a one way system
The best is that if there is a longer queue at a lift, you just go somewhere else to avoid the crowd.
Brilliant apres-skis, excellent places to eat out, party places are really reduced.
Free ski bus everywhere, but don’t rely on timetables, it’s Italy: sooner or later a bus will come.
Lining up for ski lifts is rare even during the Feb peak season. Slopes are fairly quiet and there’s variety of easy and hard runs. In Livigno there are no green slopes as such, but there are plenty of easy to hard runs to explore.
There are often deals over the long winter season, specially around late Feb and March.
One particular deal which runs every year is the Family week . This can be a great saving if you are willing to wait after peak weeks. Most accommodations would offer good deals during family week for ski passes, ski hire, ski lessons and accommodation. which is great value, for such great location.
Livigno is close to border with Switzerland about 1hr from st Moritz which is great as it has the best of everything!!! you can enjoy St moritz snow in Italy prices! Highly recommend
Cons: Transfer from Milan is quite long but well worth it.
