Extensive and varied area shared with St Francois, great fun and plenty of things to do at all levels. Beginners or early intermediates might struggle to get fully around the area and see all the different parts.

Combolouviere is a bit of a slow and pointless spur of the area, don't waste time heading down there unless you want a long slow cruise with a beginner.

The big freeride area is a great asset and hugely fun. The long runs connecting the two valleys are great and cruisy, although a couple of slow lifts and heavily mogulled link runs make it a chore at the end of the day.

More child friendly things to do over the St François side really. Valmorel town is really lovely though, quaint little streets and some amazing places to eat out.

I have to be honest, I can’t take any credit for finding this absolute gem of a resort. My wife led the charge on this one, and after she broke her leg on our last trip (not here!), the stakes were incredibly high. We needed somewhere she could feel 100% confident and safe again, and this place was a total dream come true.

Unlike the massive, impersonal resorts we’ve visited before, this felt so genuine and soulful, yet still had plenty of life to it! Even during a few dry days without fresh powder, the conditions were fantastic and so accessible. But then, the snow started falling, and everything turned into a literal winter wonderland. We’ve already decided we’re coming back. I want to tell everyone to go here, but I also kind of want to keep these quiet slopes all to myself

Great location with a good amount of slopes to keep you busy for the week. Went with the family and was both busy and quiet enough for all. Would return again

This ki resort was a lot quieter than others we have visited such as La Plagne at Christmas time.
Very traditional French alpine village vibes.
Everyone friendly and helpful in villages and on the mountain.
Even in low snow conditions lifts were adapted and all runs marked extremely well.
We have some beginner skiers in our group and there are many easy runs for them to do all over the Valmorel resort, as well as some more challenging runs for more experienced people.
Not as much night life as the bigger resorts, but still plenty of entertainment and open bars and restaurants to visit.
Overall a great place to ski in peak season thats quieter than dome of the bigger resorts.

Valmorel is a beautiful little village with a hotel at leading directly to the main lift. The bottom floor of the hotel is ski hire. Overall it's quiet and family friendly with good snow.

Amazing resort, brilliant ski schools and ESF staff, would recommend going slightly later in the season as when we arrived middle of December there wasn’t a lot of snow, meaning a lot of pistes were closed. However when they opened up there’s many fun and exciting runs to do.

Great little Valmorel with fantastic amenities for families on and off the piste. A new cable car whisks you up to the main ski area, and connecting Saint Francois Longchamps is an easy commute for cruisey blues. This is a great overall resort for people learning or improving their snow sports abilities, with a separate sledging slope, zip wire and beautiful main street. Well worth a visit and an easy drive to The Three Valleys if needs be.

Little known French resort, two hours from Geneva, a great village, huge ski area with terrain for everyone, with rarely a queue at the lifts.Good selection of bars and restaurants and a very reasonable lift pass price.

The resort is great for budget skiing as accommodation can be found for cheap. Ski hire was also very affordable from the celliers lift cabin. Lift pass was no less than nearby resorts such as Courchevel which didnt equate to the smaller size of Valmorel. Great resort for a couples weekend trip or family, but not large enough for a week of skiing.

Valmorel is a fantastic option if you're after a most cost affective and smaller resort.

Particularly well set up for families and beginners, the resort has a great beginner section away from the main pistes.

A brand new 20 million cable car has replaced a lower chairlift, making it even quicker to get up to the decent runs.

Consistenting mainly of blues and more challenging blues / reds, this is a great resort to advance from a beginner to an intermediate.

The piste side bars and restaurants are relatively cheap, and the village has plenty of alpine appeal, with several supermarkets that aide those opting for self catered accommodation.

Overall, this is a fantastic resort for families with younger children or equally great as a weekend destination for those who just want to have fun without too much cost.
