What Skiers Say About Val Thorens

Val Thorens attracts a wide range of skiers and snowboarders, from beginners to experts, with many praising its high altitude for snow reliability throughout the season. The resort is part of the Three Valleys, offering extensive terrain and well-maintained pistes with efficient lifts and minimal queuing. Après-ski is consistently highlighted as lively and energetic, with popular venues like Folie Douce and Bar 360, though some note it caters more to a younger, party-focused crowd. Most accommodation is ski-in/ski-out, and reviewers appreciate the variety of runs, though several mention that food and drinks are expensive. Beginners note limited green runs and that many blues can be challenging or icy, while advanced skiers praise off-piste options and access to neighbouring valleys.

Great resort I have visited many times. Good for families, group trips and couple or solos alike. Lots of terrain variability to suit everyone and access to the whole of the 3 valleys. However if the weather is poor, then the 3 valleys connection is usually closed due to high winds which can limit skiing options

Blinder of a ski resort, had an unreal week the lifts and run options are endless. the burger place called shelter, what a gaff.
Clubs and bars are rowdy. Apres kick off.
Was quite busy on the runs but still good

Its the second time we visited VT and it never fails to provide an amazing experience . The runs are second to none with beautiful veiws of the valley and providing even seasoned riders with a challenge. The snowpark was stacked with great features and there is no shortage of places to stop for a coffee or beer whatever takes your fancy . Its always at the top of my recommended places to ski/snowboard

Great night life can get in the way of boarding. Incredible food if you're willing to pay. Not as limitless and huge as i expected, but wicked runs all the same.

Love the vastness of this resort, and how easy it is to get across to other resorts. Great ski in- ski out accommodation, but food and accom is generally overpriced. Takes ages to get there from the airport, but this also means you can ski early and late season. I went in the early season and the snow wasn’t great, had no powder, but the parks were excellent. Open every day with fresh snow, they kept the landings as soft as they could, and kept the park open all day.

Overall, ideal ski in ski out resort with great access to shops, bars, restaurants and a great spa. The skiing is very very good, with a mix of slopes and HUGE area to access with 3 valleys pass. Definitely worth it to go explore Switzerland. Town can get rowdy into the evenings with many different bar clubs, which is personal preference really. But truly a different world to visit for a week or two.

Val Thorens is hands down one of the best ski resorts I’ve been to. The altitude guarantees incredible snow, the runs are varied and perfectly linked, and the whole place has a lively, buzzing atmosphere from first lift to last drink. Everything is ski-in ski-out which makes it super easy, and the après scene is unreal without feeling over the top. Whether you’re there to push yourself on the slopes or just enjoy the vibe, it delivers on all fronts — I absolutely loved it.
