I spent 5 months in Val DIsere, we always had snow in that time and apart from maybe 1 or 2 weeks was always top quality. The off piste options are pretty broad especially if you are into ski touring as then a whole new part of the resort is opened up to you. The aprés is pretty much unmatched and always busy from the start of season till just after the easter holidays.

Val DIsere is the pinnacle of French skiing. It is such a vast ski resort covering 3 different areas and a whole host of abilities are catered for. Its altitude almost guarantees its snow quality.
The mountain restaurants and apres are great. Cocos is where you want to head after the day is done.
There is a leisure centre with a gym, pool and spa if you would prefer that after skiing.
The town is bustling and packed with the finest bars, designer shops and restaurants.
Fab place

The base of the resort is at 1800 m so it is really snow-sure and has a long season. Huge area with a wide variety of terrain. Lots of off-piste is accessible from the lifts or you can go farther afield if you want to ski tour. The lifts are really quick so you can get a lot of vertical in. However, it is a really popular resort, so it can get really crowded during the holidays. The accommodation is pricey too.

Great skiing with a large coverage and variety of skiing. Beautiful to ski around, with access to la daille, les brev and tignes.
Good apres and night life but on the more expensive side.

We travelled as a large group of experienced adult skiers. We wanted to heli ski for the week but unfortunately the heli company was closed. We decided to hire an off listed guide for the week. We used Oxygen ski school and they were great. The guide was very professional and took us on all the off piste terrain around Val disere. We were lucky and had a big snowfall the precious days so there ws plenty of untracked powder to be skied. Overall great skiing, plenty of advanced terrain and a good lift network to get high up on the mountain. The town is lively and plenty of apres bars (cocoricco and volle douche were the best). Food was great but tends to be quite expensive to eat out. Average £30-40 for a main course in a restaurant. Overall a great resort and 100% visit again due to the choice of terrain and off piste options .
