What Skiers Say About Tignes
Tignes attracts primarily intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders, with reviewers consistently noting the vast ski area, high altitude ensuring reliable snow coverage, and strong connections to Val d'Isère. The après-ski scene, particularly venues like Cocorico's and Folie Douce, receives frequent praise. Multiple users mention well-groomed pistes, efficient lift systems, and minimal queuing outside peak periods. Common criticisms include high prices for food, drink, and lift passes, limited terrain for complete beginners (many greens require blues to access), and a lack of tree-lined runs due to the high altitude. Several reviewers describe the resort architecture as functional rather than picturesque, and conditions can become icy or mogul-heavy by late afternoon.

The quality of skiing is very high with over 600km of skiing to do across the Espace region. The night life is second to none with a special mention to Le Moose bar which has been an old favourite located in the Le Lac village.
I always recommend to friends as it caters for all levels of skiers and I am going again for the Christmas week!
Austrias resorts.
We had a warm welcoming from the visitors centre in Val Claret that allowed us to drop in our bags before check in.
Once fuelled up on some unbelievable pizza from a local food spot, we was able to grab our skis and pass with ease,
Check in to our self catered apartment, and prep for the days ahead.
Waking up 7 on the 1st day and everyday after, wed enjoy a unreal homemade sausage roll and a coffee from the corner cafe before jumping on the funicular up to Le Grande Motte.
Snow is absolutely everywhere up in the Tignes valleys so you'll never be disappointed with the conditions. After a day of shredding, if your like me, where eating is cheating, wed finish by skiing down to Coco Ricos for the end of the day to catch the Live bands and Djs with what felt like everyone in Val Claret for some Beers and whatever else youd fancy! What a vibe.
Don't get me wrong you cant forget about the folie douce (if i have spelt that correct) but it will require you to catch the last chair lifts back up to ski down if your not staying in Val disere.
But anyway,
Repeat ^
For the duration of your trip and enjoy unbelievable terrain and unforgettable times with your pals!

Tignes in split in two, the lower town has way more options for food, entertainment, family vibes etc. ski area does have some off pirate zones near trails you can dip into easily when it snows. But the real Backcountry is very challenging, full of rocks, basins, cliffs etc.
Higher lifts are required for decent snow later in the year. Pretty awesome extra curriculars with an on piste runway for flights, para ski etc.
Tignes park is great fun! Well maintained with almost every feature you'd want.
Terrain park is amazing if youre into that and the apres is always good.
I would definitely avoid staying at Les brevierres though as its quite far away. We made this mistake last time as it was cheaper. You end up having to get 4 lifts up to get anywhere and then are checking your watch from about 2 making sure you have enough time to get back.
Val Claret and anywhere in 2100 are better options imo.
Starting with the ski area its self the Espace Killy joining its sister town Val disere making up 300km+ of runs has a great variety of skiing availing from the high altitude glacier to the tree runs down in la daile and plenty of areas to experience off pieste. Theres also two snow parks with a good selection of features in both with regular freestyle comps being hosted. Plenty of black runs for the experts most notably the Olympic level La face but tied with enough blues and greens for the casual skier to have plenty to do.
If your brave enough the hidden valley and the fingers are some of the craziest runs youll find in the alps
Next the Apres. Some of the best Apres in the alps, from outdoor partying with live music and pyrotechnics at Cocoricos, late night clubs and sunshine supping at loop bar. Not forgetting mountain top dancing at La folie Duce!. Although beers can be expensive making use of happy hours youll find most bars par taking in and seasonaire discounts if you work in town it can be pretty reasonable compared with other resorts of its size.
The locals are really friendly around tignes and bar owners go out of their way to get to know the regular punters much more so I found than in the sister resort of Val disere. Another bonus in tignes is the resort is quite open and keeps the sun most of the day. I fully recommend sitting on the balcony at moose bar and enjoying the view of the lake on a warm day.
After 3 winters and two summers working in resort Im still finding new places to ski and new adventures to have. Theres really too much to do if anything in this resort.
