Brilliant resort, great mix of runs and 4 separate villages in the valley linked with lifts/runs/buses
Great mix of shops, reasonably priced (I think) lift passes too
Alot of newer bigger lifts moving people about more quickly seems to stop too much bottlenecking

Had a great time at serre chevalier!,
We went in the last wk of March and still had great snow, the lifts were great and the queue for them wasn't bad at all, would definitely go again.

Large ski area not too far from the Italian border making it a short transfer from Turin. Stayed in Briançon, right next to the one gondola out of town. Low altitude meant the final run had turned to mud and that was a theme at all of the main gondola stations. We skied through snowstorms, rain, ice, rivers of water and mud. It was very variable away from the bowl. Plenty of huts and restaurants around the ski area to stop for a vin chaud or coffee. Suits intermediates and some decent looking off piste but I didn't personally do any of that. Not a resort I'd go back to, but it was a fun week in all.

Great resort, plenty of accomodation options with local shops for self catering. Eating out was a little expensive, both in resort and on slope. Not a resort for the lively apres ski scene rather a relaxed vibe.

Lots of good fairly quiet red runs, off piste close to lifts, and good family runs. Bigger area that it looks, but a few old lifts needing upgrade. Nice towns

Hidden gem. Substantial ski area. Four villages to choose from. Briancon biggest. We stayed in Villeneuve. Quieter village with a vibrant local community. Wide, well groomed pistes. Slow lifts. Accessible and good quality mountain restaurants. Best village bars and local restaurants a little off the beaten track and need pointing out.
Took train from Paris to Grenoble and a two hour shared transfer from there. Easy. Would happily return.

Went for Christmas and new year so was a little busy on the main bowl into the mid station. Hadnt snowed much so some slopes closed but the village had lots of events on which was free and great entertainment

I was lucky that there was a lot of snow during my week and so the off-piste was fantastic. The instructors from Ski Connections were some of the very best instructors I have experienced and I would highly recommend them.

The lift system is old and needs some investment, but except on the sunniest days the queues were short. On the sunny days some connecting lifts had long queues.

Excellent resort with wide range of skiing options. Lifts feel outdated/slightly dangerous and more money needs to be invested.

Compared to other European countries France always feels expensive and busy, but great variety of options for eating out and apres ski.

Lovely little town attached to main ski resort with bakeries and delis.

Amazingly large ski area with all the upper lifts linking easily, long wide flowing runs and plenty of off piste within the bowls but bring your avalanche equipment as this is a requirement, they even have echo checks at all off piste bowls so you can check your gear

Highly recommend Serre Chevalier! Been here too many times to count now and love it every single time. Always sunny, with 300 days of sunshine a year but amazing conditions at the same time! Big ski area to explore with some great runs and also very quite out of peak times!
