Wide ski runs which helps alot. Able to do Blues from the top of the mountains. Well kept slopes. Can get busy at times with experienced skiers whizzing past so need to be careful. Some nice greens to get you back into the swing of it.

Flaine is good for intermediate skiers, quite steep & icy at top but long runs so need to be fit to keep going. Family resort, quiet, not much apres/night life

Great place to begin skiing in your 60s. Fantastic instructors, good class sizes, great choice of slopes, stunning landscape, up on the tops quickly, friendly atmosphere, no long queues for ski lifts…

Flaine: Good all round resort, with enough snow there is lots of easy access off piste. Runs are ok, well kept, quite a lot linked by long flats, not an ideal resort for boarders.

Thoroughly enjoyed Flaine lovely skiing. Resort well equiped clean. Great access to the slopes. Also visited Morillon less snow this tume but pretty resort.

Nice family friendly resort with a wide selection of accommodation. Ski bus runs regularly up until approx 18:00 daily. A couple of different ski school options for both children and adults. This is 3rd trip out now and worth it.

Great resort with lots of nice runs. Well sign posted and easy to navigate. No major queues after the initial gondola. Great links to travel to other resorts.

Plenty to of slopes to give older teens freedom to head off on their own.

Enough bars and food places easy to walk to in the evening, with a central location.

Its a nice small resort with good long runs and quiet queues. Chairlifts and gondolas both provide a quick and easy way to the top of the mountain and there are several long reds and blues down. Unfortunately all the blacks were closed and the reds weren’t too challenging.

Skiing would be amazing but unfortunately Mother Nature has not been kind, therefore making all open runs overly busy and challenging, the resort itself is very quiet and a great family place, although coming off the slope could do with a bit more so you can have a bit more with the kids, the architecture is not your traditional ski resort it is very much a personal taste, certainly not for everyone and definitely not as picturesque as most but if family oriented and with good conditions very good all round

Some fantastic skiing off the top of the Grands Platières with absolutely awesome views of Mont Blanc. Wide easy reds, perfect for carving, through stunning scenery and a couple of challenging gulley blacks for advanced skiers.
Mostly excellent lift capacity, however with some 10 to 20 minute queues in busy (ie
Christmas) weeks.
Family friendly resort with mostly ski in/out accommodation. Not the prettiest resort, as most hotels purpose built, concrete, however good links to the beautiful villages of Samoëns and Morillon with much more varied, lower altitude skiing.
A great resort for intermediates and advanced skiers, with a few greens and Nursery slopes for beginners. Food/eating out options mainly limited to three or four restaurants, or withing hotels, but good selection of on-slope eating places and bars. Apres-ski limited, but one or two bars to cater for the more lively customers. The vibe is more chilled and family focused with brasserie and bistro. Overall, a great resort for high altitude (1600 to 2500m) skiing with a great variety of slopes and options to ski down to surrounding villages. Don't expect beautiful buildings/Chalets, but do expect stunning mountain views!

Flaine is a family friendly/couple friendly resort for exciting days and quieter/relaxing nights. We visited in December and the snow was kept well despite not having any fresh snowfall for 2 weeks prior to our arrival.
The blue pistes are generally at the higher end of the skill scale compared to other blue pistes in Austria resorts where we usually go.
The lifts are great and there is plenty of choice of runs. You can ski the Flaine area easily within 3 days with a good experience level.
Slopes were super busy in the early afternoon which caused heavy degradation of the piste (moguls). Overall very happy with the resort for a short ski break away.

Flaine was a great family friendly resort. Enjoyed the ski in ski out hotel as well as the food options in town.

Great family resort, lovely runs and definitely something for everyone.
Night life isn’t lively but value for money for family skiing with access to some great slopes is top notch

Great resort- not the most pretty to look at but great skiing and more family budget friendly than other resorts.

Being a skier and boarder I appreciated the efficiency of the lifts connecting from the slopes without poleing or walking with the board. Great range of terrain and always options for lifts if one gets busy. The resort is great for families with lots going on in the centre of the town during Christmas and new year. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyable skiing with great variety of groomed and off piste.
Superb instruction from our ESF instructor. She knew where to go, pushed everyone's standards on and read the different personalities and levels well.
Highly recommend flaine as a great intermediate resort

The bigger French ski resorts always have plenty to offer. Flaine is excellent for on piste/off piste skiing and has something enjoyable for every level of skier. It isn't the cheapest place to ski, but it is certainly good value for money for those wanting to get a lot of skiing under their belts. There's also a free lift for the beginners, so you don't have to pay for a lift pass until you are confident enough to try out your new skills on a steeper slope.
The town is very ugly, but so ugly that you will grow to love the brutal architecture.
There are several bars and restaurants and cafes in the main area but I'd still recommend booking a table if there are more than 2 of you. Some restaurants can get very busy at peak times.

I went to Flaine with my adult son and we had an incredible ski holiday. The accommodation at Totem Hotel was amazing, super comfortable and convenient. The slopes and ski lifts were extremely easy to access. The ski rental was smooth and the slopes were fantastic. A great friendly atmosphere all around. We felt a little limited for food options as it’s a very small resort and due to the fog that came in, some of the apres ski bars were closed.
