The ski in ski out accommodation was fantastic for a family, a very easy place for a family to ski. We always chose high altitude resorts forguaranteed snow. Would definitely choose Flaine again for a relaxed affordable family holiday

Absolutely unreal time with my son! Blue runs were perfect for beginners, views from the pub facing mont blonc are somethin else!

We went to Flaine as a family for a week during the school Christmas break. The skiing was okay, although pistes werent regularly groomed even after fresh snowfall. I think they were done once or twice during our week stay. As we were there in the school holiday it was very busy and queues for the lifts were long. Food and drink was good but booking in advance is necessary to guarantee a place.

Great resort, have been twice. Skiing is good but resort is (these days) a bit low. No significant nightlife but good restaurants and friendly staff. Not as expensive as some.

Very snowsure venue due to its bowl shape. Under an hour from Geneva. Accommodation is mostly S/C. Fantastic off piste if you know where to go. Nightlife fairly quiet, but 2 or 3 good late night bars. Lift system modern, access to Samoens, Les Carroz and Morillion too.
I have been coming here for over 20 years and have always had a great time. April can be incredible, with quiet slopes and often huge dumps of fresh snow.

This resort is an awesome for advanced and beginners alike as the way pistes are very wide and easily accessed by easy to use lift systems and the off-piste is incredible when the snow is there

Having worked 2 winter seasons there I loved it and really enjoyed the large Dutch and Scandinavian visitors who were all really friendly too.

Great for families as all the gentle slopes are so spacious and misty hotels are pretty much ski to door.

Really great for all ski levels with many km of all difficulty runs. There is also good beginner/intermediate off piste. Amazing scenery and lots of options for getting around to different parts of the resort. There is also lots of options for different budgets (I usually go on the cheaper end and really enjoy it). Also easy to get to from the airport

Relaxed large ski area, family oriented so bars are not overly noisy. Only down side is close to Geneva so you get a lot of day skiers.

Visited last year as a family with 8yo and 5yo. All runs lead back to resort more or less so easy for ski school drop off and pick ups. Speedy lifts and good beginner resort. Enough for a week for intermediates and up.

Flaine is a great choice if youre after reliable snow, hassle-free skiing, and a laid-back atmosphere. The slopes are well-suited to all levels, and there are some brilliant runs like Cascades and Serpentine that make the most of the stunning mountain views. The snow here is some of the best Ive experienced, and being able to ski right to your door at most places really makes life easier, especially if youre with a group or family.

The resort itself is practical rather than pretty the 1960s design isnt for everyone, but you quickly forget about it once youre out on the slopes. Après-ski is fairly quiet, with a few cosy bars and restaurants to relax in, so its perfect if youre more about the skiing than the partying. Its not flashy, but Flaine feels easy and comfortable exactly what you need for a stress-free ski trip.

This hidden gem that gets looked over for the better resorts has it all. Decent ski schools, great snow coverage and a great amount of slopes for ALL levelssome great technical sections and one of the longest runs in Europe down to the bottom of Le Grand Massif!!
Highly recommendalthough dont go as it means the slopes will get busier for me.

It won't be in anyone's top 10 après resorts unless they have been to fewer than 11 but lots to keep you busy enough to not care. Some good off-piste options although sinkholes abound to trap the unwary. Some of the lower runs in the wider area are only viable these days when conditions are good. An excellent family resort with a good range of terrain and difficulty.

We've been to Flaine (and nearby Les Carroz)a number of times now -a very easy to get to resort from Geneva on a private transfer. Lovely sunny bowl for skiing and good lift connections. I'd say its a intermediate resort. Stayed last time right next to the slopes and lifts - perfect. Good supermarket down on the bottom level or a smaller one up top.
Food options on the mountain are good and the restaurants and bars in the town are great - go down to the bottom level and the brasserie and bar/restaurant next door are lovely. My brother is going again this year with his family after going to Val Thorens for years. He loved it last year and had great snow. We usually go in March when its quieter with longer warmer days.

Fantastic resort in France. High altitude skiing with very good historical snow record mid Dec through to mid Apr. Excellent family resort with facilities to cater for all, winter sports lovers or not.
Huge and varied terrain to challenge all levels. Great selection of accommodation and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Close to the airport this good transfer times.

Has lots of snow throughout the season, thus can be very good late in the season for a short or extra trip.

Lots of different types of slopes although a few of the reds into resort can get icy or slushy depending on on the time of year

Amazing off piste, great snow record, lots of reasonably priced accommodation options. Convenient for access to the slopes. Love the layout of the pistes in Flaine, arranged in a north-facing bowl for ease of access and great snow. Good for families but not a huge selection of pubs or clubs (which also like). Two or three good pubs so enough to do!
