Courchevel Review Summary
Courchevel attracts skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from beginners to experts, with many reviewers highlighting its connection to the Three Valleys as a major draw. Intermediate skiers dominate the reviews and consistently praise the well-groomed pistes, wide runs, and efficient lift system. Off-piste and tree runs are noted by advanced riders, while beginners appreciate the nursery slopes and ease of progression. The resort's high cost is the most frequently mentioned drawback, with reviewers citing expensive lift passes, food, drink, and accommodation. Après-ski options are well-regarded, though prices vary significantly between locations. Some reviewers mention crowding, particularly with inexperienced skiers, and a few note issues with lower-altitude snow cover later in the season.

Some lifts need replacing. These include the gondola out of 1850 up to Saluire and the gondola from Meribel Mottaret to the same point.
The cafes and restaurants on the mountain were expensive and were not good value.
As a senior I was surprised there wasn't a discount on the pass until you were 75! Then I believe a 6 day pass was 102 Euros. In Tignes and Val d Isere it is free at that age and there's a reduction from mid sixties.
It is a great and varied area particularly when the snow cover is good, which it was. There are fabulous viewing areas on the Caron and La Masse.
The avalanche risk was at 4 or 3 all week so unfortunately I didn't really ski off pistes.
Overall an impressive ski area.
Socialising and eating is pricey. You absolutely need a concierge or connections to attend most “famous” eateries etc (Bagatelle, Cap Horn, Chalet De Pierres, Le Ferme Saint Amour, Baies, Beefbar) or a booking well in advance. No issue with getting into Folie whatsoever however for the first time they had started checking ID?? Just a prewarning as I know many people wouldn’t think to bring it on the slopes.
Only negative is there are a lot of foot passengers who clog up the lifts, eateries and clubs to come and shop in 1850 at the boutiques. If you have low tolerance for influencers I wouldn’t recommend staying here. They are everywhere and will stop and take content at any given opportunity. They lack spacial awareness also, so don’t be surprised if you’re skiing and they suddenly appear in a bikini and Moonboots in the middle of a run with a professional photographer in tow.
Skiing has plenty of runs and a good variety.
Big apres but very expensive.
I don’t have a bad word to say about our trip!
Easily one of the best places in the world.
