Great resort, especially for beginners but there's terrain for everyone. Really easy to get to from the motorway as well.

Hit and miss fir snow- had great snow and awful snow- if it's awful then it's pretty impossible to have a good time. However in good conditions it's a fun and friendly resort great for families.
Self catering is the best option with decently priced apartments near the piste.
If you can go last minute and check snow its worth a trip- lots of fun to be had off piste through trees.

Chamrousse is a great resort with lots of different pistes for all different abilities. Went here with a mixed ability group, and everyone from beginner to those who have been skiing their whole lives didnt get bored. Have to say though that it gets pretty busy over the weekend, but during the week you have the slopes to yourself.

Resort is split between accommodation areas but there's a free bus between them. Pistes are great - super variety and length, and easy to avoid drag lifts if they're not your thing. There are some fun non-ski activities such as the zip line, sledging, hanging bridges etc. Not a lot of choices for restaurants (I needed to self cater due to nowhere having allergen info) and no big fancy hotels - this is a small, relatively quiet resort. Does have a clinic for x-rays and casts if you end up injured, lovely firemen and fabulous pharmacy staff! Hope to return for a less dramatic visit sometime!

Fairly expensive but for a ski resort probably normal. I had a ski school lesson here and I enjoyed it. The snow was pretty good, they had a range of runs and ski lifts were quite empty and smooth

I chose this resort because I was sick of paying a fortune to stay in disgusting accommodation in the bigger ski areas. We werent expecting the pistes or the park to be amazing, so we were pleasantly surprised that there was good piste skiing (although I think after 5 days of only pistes, advanced piste skiers would get a bit bored). The highlight looks like the touring from and around Lac Robert. There were some nice off-piste options for non-climbers too (we didnt have touring gear, so couldnt walk too far). Good new black runs off the top of the highest peak (where the one bubble lift goes), with a couloir to rival Courcheval. Park is pretty good plenty of features and well maintained. We stayed in Bachat, which is heaven for families with young kids. Absolutely loads for kids to do. Lovely beginner slopes. Also very very beautiful skiing with lots of trees and fun off-piste tree runs when the snow is good. Would recommend for anyone looking to spend less for more comfortable accommodation, who doesnt care about skiing loads of different pistes.

Good resort, enough skiing for a week but limited apres. Very family friendly and affordable. Would recommend if you're looking for a budget friendly trip and want to relax in the evenings.

Very accessible from Grenoble (30 minutes) and the cheapest resort of all. Family friendly, lots of nice restaurants.

Great little resort for families or friends for a long weekend or maybe even a week if youre willing to have a smaller area than more famous resorts.

There are a good variety of runs ranging from the greens found at Bachat Bouloud, to cruisy blues from Roche Bérangère and some of the steeper red and blacks above Le Recoin, such as Couloir and Olympique Homme. My personal favourite is the red Lacs Robert which offers stunning scenery and quiet pistes. For a small resort, the snow park is really impressive, but obviously not as large as some of the larger neighbours such as Les Deux Alpes. The main downside with the resort are the small vertical descent with a maximum vertical descent of 850m but more typically around 550m.

The resort itself is very quiet, except on weekends where there are many locals and given its proximity to Grenoble is good for families with short transfers and options in the city a 30 minute drive/ 45 minute bus away if there is bad weather. There is not much après-ski wise. L'Embuscade Pub is a good spot while I would recommend the K-Dox pub at the foot of the slopes next to the Arselle chairlift.

Overall a good resort for families and friends groups that want varied terrain for good value and dont mind lack of nightlife

Chamerrouse, as I like to call it, is like a 3-star resort thats got everything I need for a solid ski trip without the mega-crowds. The terrain is pretty diverse, with enough variety to keep me stoked all day. Theres a nice selection of cruisy blues and some solid reds to push my limits a bit. The snow can be pretty dependable, and when the fresh stuff falls, Im all over the off-piste for some powder turnsthough its not exactly the kind of place where Im looking for gnarly lines, just fun, accessible adventure.

The vibes relaxed, too. Its not the wild après-ski scene, but there are definitely some chill spots to kick back and enjoy a hot drink after a day of carving. The village has that low-key mountain town feel, which I really appreciate. No need for long lift lines or tons of tourists, just a great place to spend a few days skiing, relaxing, and enjoying the Alpine atmosphere.
