Resort is bustling and magical. No cars makes it safe and a lovely atmosphere. We went in half term and still found options easily for food and drink. Lots to do and staff helpful and polite.

Nice ski area, with access to Switzerland. Car free resort which really helps the holiday feeling! Down side is lots of block of flats accommodation which are quite run down and not very aesthetically pleasing.

Avoriaz is a great resort. Everything is close by, easy to get around. Easy to access lifts. Central position in portes du soleil ski area. Plenty of skiing options. Plenty of eating options. Slightly more reasonably priced than other French resorts for food and drink. Some good Apres spots. Most accommodation if not all ski in ski out.

Went in January 2026. Snow was class, slopes were class, beer was class. Will definitely look to book again next year.

Great range of runs, such a large area to cover and fantastic lift structure. Gotta love the apres, never fails!

Excellent first time staying in resort. Great week and lovely atmosphere over Christmas. Based at the top of the resort gave fantastic views. Close to Swiss border enabling a great tour of the area, but pistes in and around resort were fab.

Some of the best ski to door in the alps in arguably one of the prettiest resorts with easy access to high altitude skiing on the French Swiss border Porte du Soleil region.

Great resort with a huge skiing domain. Good choice of slopes from beginner to expert. So nice that there are no cars in the town and the whole town is permanently snowy all winter unlike the lower villages of Morzine and Les Gets. Lots to do for kids in the town, ice skating, tobogganing, horse rides and an amazing jungle pool. Lots of nice restaurants on the slopes and a few nice ones in the town.

I visited Avoriaz as a solo snowboarder as my 3rd or 4th snowboarding trip (lots of indoor experience prior)

I thought the slopes and the town were fantastic. I had ski in/out accommodation and never found myself waiting long for lifts.

The variation in slopes here felt so nice. Their were winding runs between trees, snow park options, rolling hills, and sharp, steep slopes to bomb down.

The food was great and all the folk were lovely too. I've been wanting to back again since but just haven't made it fit with family affairs.

100% recommend heading here!

Had an excellent experience in Avoriaz! As a keen skier and somone wanting to develop my ability every time I go out, I felt that the runs in Avoriaz proved plenty of opportunities for me to progress and see a difference at the end of each day. As a collective my freinds and I (all 19 yo) believe that Avoriaz is great for not only the skiing but the affordability, efficiency around the resort and also the simplicity of travel with busses running regularly around the central gondola. All in all a pleasant experience and will be back there again in march this year. Pray for the snow to keep falling!

Have stayed in avoriaz many times and keep coming back. It is absolutely fantastic. The rooms are well groomed and it is fairly snow sure for the most part. There is lots of night life and plenty of places to stay. The ski area is massive.

We have visited Avoriaz many times, since our children were young! Great family resort due to the no car zone and the ease of ski in ski out. A good selection of restaurants and some good entertainment at times.

Best time ever! Great for all capabilities and the apres is amazing . Would recommend! We loved folie douche

Avoriaz is about snow-sure as you will get in the Alps. It is above Morzine and build by Norwegians or Danish. It looks cool - and has amazing snow. Mostly occupied by boarders and a few skiers, it has great Apres-ski and is always busy till late into the season.

Food is cool too.

Avoriaz gets 5star from me as the ease and convenience of ski in ski out is fantastic. The ski area itself is also outstanding, beautiful long runs, well groomed pistes and the option to go down to Morzine below. I prefer to go for 4/5 days and accommodation can be tricky to find in avoriaz for anything less than 1 week and that is a negative but I understand

We stayed at the Belambra the week before Xmas, so for them the first week of the season- We couldn't have asked for any more, so I would wholly recommend this hotel.
The snow conditions were good, as they'd had a good metre early in December, but towards the end of the week with days of sunshine (I know - awful!!) they could've done with a new dump - but most areas were open and very well pisted.
The one thing that caught us out, but soon figured out, was the no car zone - from the drop off zone, you either wait for a horse and carriage or a vehicle that takes oyu to your hotel or pay €1 for a tray to put your suitcases on & oull them to your accom. The horse and carriage etc costs €15 min so just to be aware of that.
The town centre has lovely shops, ski paraphernalia, sports shops, local cuisine, but the supermarket is also great for everything, including souvenirs. The restaurants looked lovely, but we were AI so didn't need to book these. There is an amazing (by all accounts) swimming centre and also skating rink.
Great resort for kids, with good green and blue runs into the town.
Hardly queued for any lift. Snow park wasn't fully built when we got there which was a bit disappointing, but only a couple of our party used it over the week.
All in all we would all recommend Avoriaz (unless you're allergic to horses!)

The runs are groomed excellently, the lifts are working well and efficient. Food on the alps are good, and friendly staff

Avoriaz is a great snow sure option and quite expansive in that you can ski to Switzerland from theere. On the downside is does get pretty busy in peak holiday times. Some varied runs to suit all abilities .

Absolutely love Avoriaz, been mulitple times over the last 15 years and alway got snow due to height unlike other parts of main morzine. Will be visiting again next year. Plenty of variation, loads of runs and very central
