The resort is lovely. The ski bus was incredibly efficient and easy, it made getting to several different mountains quick and is included in the ski pass. The Skiing on Zell am See was lovely - perfect for families with younger kids just starting out and beginners. Kids snow park was great fun even for us as adults. There are several lovely places to eat across the mountain. Kaprun is definitely more of an intermediate area but it is great fun. Snow on the lower mountain of Kaprun is much less powder and more icy but the runs are brilliant - though the last bit into the village is a bit treacherous. The Kaprun Glacier is incredible - powder, great run diversity and brilliant skate parks for the more experienced skier and snowboarder. The food across the mountain is fantastic, lots of places to stop and eat or Apres ski. In the two towns there’s a lot of great places to go eat and drink, we’ve only found one that we didn’t enjoy in 4 years of returning to the area and the food was still pretty nice there.

Great ski resort. Been twice now with wife & 2 kids. Family friendly and infrastructure is very good.

Lovely little town centre, great restaurants and bars. Less options on the mountain- think more traditional Austrian food options. Can get busy in peak season but can easily avoid the crowds by resting at less popular times. Slopes kept in good condition.

Long bus trips and felt too much travel and lifts to get up the mountain. Hard work for kids. Unbelievably rude staff on mountain restaurants.

Great resort, well organised and lots of options for food and drinks after a day on the slopes!
Loved the runs back to town and everyone was very friendly. Lessons were good too

This was a great family friendly resort. A limited number of slopes were open in Zell am See but a short bus ride to Karin gave lots more options. Would definitely return to the resort again!

Zell am see is a good resort but a lack of snow meant that runs were very busy and a lot of very icy runs without much fresh snow. However the options between the different areas adds some good variation

We had a lovely time skiing! there was lots of variation in the difficulty of the runs and there was something for everyone. When we weren’t skiing we weren’t bored either because the town has plenty of places to eat, drink, and shop! would recommend :))

I went to Zell am Zee this year as a novice, first time, older skier with my experienced skiing sons and intermediate skiing husband.

Our accommodation in the Garten hotel was lovely- good variation of choices each morning and evening. It was a 20 min walk to ski school and lifts.

The ski school instructors were brilliant - mine was called Naz and she was patient, skilled and practical. By the end of the week I was tackling blue into red runs. Scary (for me) but exhilarating. The snow on lower slopes was thin and a little icy but great higher up when we got off the ski school slopes.

Aprés ski was good fun. As expected, fairly expensive drinks, but to be honest, we were all tired and didn’t have many late nights.

I recommend this resort for the range of slopes to accommodate all levels of skiers.

Highly recommend skiing at Zell Am See. Everything was great from the runs to apres ski. People are friendly and laid back, with a little something for everyone.

The runs were well kept even in low snow conditions, ski park especially was in top condition, multiple bars to pick from up near the main lifts, only down side is its annoying you can’t ski direct from the top of the mountain to the bottom you do have to jump on a connecting cable car, but it’s not the end of the world due to super high efficiency and cable car capacity, would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our trip to Zell am See. Lifts were great no queues but it was early season, Most pistes were great and quiet. Friendly people. Good food.

Stayed near city express gondola. Really easy to get kids up to the mountain and ski school. Hardly any queuing for lifts. Plenty of room on the slopes. Would definitely go again.

We stayed across from the lake which was beautiful and gave us easy access both to the slopes and the town. The slopes were well groomed and well signed. The on piste bars were really good, live DJ, good value food and amazing views. The snow parks were fun and easily accessed. We also took a bus to the huge spa centre which was absolutely amazing and well worth a visit. On the whole it would highly recommend this resort for all ranges of skier.
