What Skiers Say About Mt St Louis-Moonstone

Mt St Louis-Moonstone is frequently visited by beginner to advanced skiers and snowboarders from the Greater Toronto Area, with many reviews highlighting it as a local alternative to Blue Mountain. The most consistent positive theme is the resort's snowmaking capability, with numerous users noting reliable snow coverage even when nearby resorts struggle. Reviewers repeatedly mention modern, fast chairlifts including a new heated 8-person lift, well-groomed runs, and quality terrain parks suitable for various skill levels. Common criticisms include short run length typical of Ontario hills, high food prices, crowding on weekends particularly during school holidays, and expensive lift tickets relative to the limited vertical. Several reviewers note the lack of on-site accommodation and distant parking as drawbacks.

This is my favourite ski resort ever! Even though I'm a beginner, this place has a lot of fun beginner runs as well as a variety of other runs. The food is good here and the staff are so friendly and helpful! 10/10 would recommend :)

They always have lots of snow! Last year when blue mountain was all mud, mslm was 90% open with a good amount of snow in their slopes.

Solid enough resort for the area, with a variety of runs for many skill levels. As a beginner, I enjoyed my ski lessons and was able to learn how to control my skis and turn. Unfortunately, lessons are quite expensive unless you get the beginner package that includes rental gear, beginner lift ticket, and a 1hr group lesson for about $120CAD. Otherwise, you have to pay over $100/hr for private lessons.

There are various lifts available with some being express chairs. Overall a solid place for the area but not a place worth travelling much distance for.

Solid enough resort for the area with a good number of fast lifts and a great terrain park with features for all levels providing a great opportunity for progression. Definitely my favourite hill in the Greater Toronto Area. Not really a place to travel to, but good for locals within a couple hour driving radius. Good for the area, but not a top-tier hill, hence the rating.

Great resort considering it's in the East coast. Given the amount of snow that falls here, comparing it to something like Blue Mountain it's amazing. The snow groomers work quite well.

Great experience, the lift lines were quick. Passes were reasonable, during the early season. Cost of food was surprisingly reasonable.

Mount St. Louis-Moonstone is a top-notch ski resort near Toronto, perfect for families and beginner-to-intermediate skiers. With over 36 well-groomed runs across two peaks, excellent snowmaking, and modern facilities, it offers a convenient and enjoyable skiing experience. The beginner-friendly slopes and terrain park are highlights, though advanced skiers might find the black diamond runs lacking in challenge. While the resort can get crowded on weekends and the food is pricey, visiting on a weekday and arriving early ensures a smoother experience. It's a reliable choice for a fun, accessible day on the slopes.

Not too far away from the city and easy to get to from the highway. Not as tall as some of the other resorts such as those in British Columbia. Plenty to do as an intermediate and expert but does not have any long runs.

The overall vibe of this resort is great, however my biggest issue with it is that the moguls are right beside a regular slope which makes it very hard to see with some goggles as I have found. However, if you have better goggles than I do and can easily see the moguls, the slopes are always good to ride on. I have only seen their terrain park but I have not gone on it and it seems solid as well. Its a great resort to learn and develop. I snowboard now but back in high school I used to ski for my schools ski team and we always came here for our tournaments. I would not recommend coming on tournament days since it usually means theres A LOT of kids and the slopes get bumpy and icey due to the amount of people.

Went to the ski resort around 3-4 times. Might be due to weather conditions but the slopes were really icy. Very busy slopes, not much variety. The ski school was nice and very friendly ! I wouldnt love to go back as it is quite pricey for the experience. As someone who has some dietary restrictions there was not much food I was able to eat here . I think there were many schools that came when I went so the slopes were crowded with inexperienced skiers. Overall very mediocre experience

Mount St. Louis is one of the best hills to ski for the cost of the ticket in southern Ontario. The new lift they added last year is amazing, heated seats were something I never thought about. I cant wait to get out there this year

Very busy on a weekend but on opening weekend it had so many runs open with nice side hits and a cool terrain park. Good parking if you come at opening but food is insanely expensive, and very small seating area
